Thread: Post 485-Filing

  1. #3426
Our I-485 is approved. We received "Welcome Letter" today.

I work as Mechanical Engineer consultant.
I worked with same company for 6 years.
I changed client once. Did not file H1 amendment.
Company merger twice, once before filing I-485 and second time week after filing I-485. We didn't inform USCIS any of these changes.
    I haven't left USA since Jan 2008.

I would like thanks everyone on this forum. There is good immigration discussion going on here and have learn lot from all of you.

So I think the inventory should include dependents too. But I am not damn sure.
Kanmani, since the receipts are generated based on the A# information it appears that somewhere the data is deficient that is why the receipt picked the RD as the PD. This is a very common issue with DB queries when a certain attribute is not available Iam guessing that in this case they are defaulting the RD or the current date as the PD. This may just be my theory and I could be wrong. Writing DB queries and generating reports is the core of my real life job and my gut feel tells me that is likely the issue with this inventory report. Unfortunately since approvals are happening really fast we will never know until the statistics for the year are published. Now it could be possible that they are maintaining multiple references of A# and corresponding PD that really is bad design then.

Teddy, I am happy as long as there is some data entered in their system showing my PD.

I am much confused after reading adjudicator's Q&A section in a forum , Adjudicators are happy to approve applications from a big family, because when primary is approved the dependents approval follow them and adjudicators get enough points in lesser time while its hard for them to approve 3 primary aplications in a shorter time. But this doesn't happen always, sometimes family members' files are handled by two diff officers .

After reading this , I thought how would they know my PD if our cases are handled by two diff officers, hence I raised the question. I had no thought about the inventory that time , just tried to link some thing from nothing.

Kanmani - looks like you got your EAD as well. Since both of us got our FP done yesterday, now its a race to the finish line. I believe now its a matter of whos application is "cleaner" (and ofcourse the ever hanging sword of Damocles aka retrogression)

Kanmani - did I not tell you that TSC is running really fast and 40 days is a good estimate for EAD there. One more item is off your list.

NSC of course is running really slow and I don't expect my EAD to be done for at least 15-20 more days. :-(

Iam absolutely fine with EAD/AP, as circumstances made me to avoid stamping for the last 5 years, . I am employed in Fed Govt (Indian) and its impossible to obtain a NOC one more time. I haven't attended my only sister's wedding , my bad. When my mom was sick last year, we were mentally prepared to leave the country forever. I know we have our own stories back home binded with even more big reasons to stay back . I wish all 2010 & 2011 PDers get current , apply I-485 to receive EAD/APatleast, H.R.3012 passes to easeout Eb3 ers .

Coming to the low hanging fruit concept, my husband's case is absolutely a high hanging fruit unreachable even to smart monkeys. He is a full time employee , has some issues with internal transfers among sister concerns.

All the best to both of us ! I wish to follow your approval.
    Kanmani - Congrats !
You are one of the first few Feb filer to EAD. It will be interesting to see how they approach the low hanging fruit. I am with you and I hope they follow approval based on PD.

Always - expect the unexpected .....

Thanks Kanmani, I am looking forward to it so that I can respond to the RFE on my H1. Agree with you on the unfairness of the low hanging fruit theory although it might go in my favor. They should process in the order of the priority date.
