My ead status was "card-production" yesterday; also I received emails saying "we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file"

and today I received email "On February 28, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION. Please follow any instructions on the notice."
and the status changed back to Post Decision Activity.

Is it normal ? Can status change backward ?
I'm confused now !!

Yes, u are good. This is normal. You might also get USPS picked up n delivered soon.

Yes, that normal. Same happened to me and several others here for GC. Status goes from Post-Decision -> Decision.

It is normal to take a few weeks for receipts to become active for some of the recent filers. I heard from my attorney that there is a glitch somewhere in the USCIS systems and they have acknowledged the same. My own receipts are still not active yet - been almost 3 weeks since I got them.

I was surprised to see online status changing from "card/doc production" ( 5th circle) to "Post decision" (4th circle)
I thought if card/production = card sent, then status would remain there only.

Drawback of Early Walk-In?

My EAD has now been pending for 8 weeks while the people who filed after me got their approvals. So as I am a worrier and keep thinking all sorts of things that could ahve gone wrong, I finally called USCIS today to check the status.

They told me that my background check was initiated along with my finger prints check. Since my EAD file was not touched before I went for my FP, I now have to wait for the Background check to come through for my file to be looked upon. If the EAD file is looked/touched before the applicant has done FP, it is approved earlier (provided all other things are fine).

So I wonder if I had waited for my FP Scheduled date of 2/21 and not walked in earlier on 2/10, I might have had my EAD/AP approved by now.

Ok...so now even the CPO email cannot be relied upon!! This is plain torture...so sorry for you guys. Hopefully, its someting simple and you should be approved shortly after submitting the evidence.

Thank you guys....well the CPO mail can't be relied upon for sure...not untill you receive the actual green card in your hand......it was very unfair of them to send us the approval mail and then a day later an RFE......

I am now not going to bother about checking my status.. i think after 2007, there processes are somewhat streamlined so things are going to be fine.. no need to panic unless nothing is happening for say 2 months !.. as long u get ur FP notice, EADs.. LUDs.. etc.. don't panic! It won't help.. it will only torture you n ur family.. speaking from personal experience.. so relax and enjoy that fact that you are (finally!) current .. !!!

Sorry I did not read your notes below properly and thought you were approved, too early for me :-).
As every one else this RFE should be straight forward....just you have to wait two more weeks and get greened.

Don't worry, enigma. NSC has been slow in sending the FP notices when compared to TSC. kanmani's service center is TSC.

The FBI fingerprinting division customer service number is 304 625 5590.They will only give you the status for fingerprinting.Currently there is no way to check the status of an name check and it is a black box . Dont worry about calling the FBI number , they are very prompt and will provide you the information immediately after you give them the A number/Receipt number.

My husband is the primary applicant. He just got an incredible job opportunity and we just got our EAD. He is not interested (loyalty to current company etc) but I am curious to know if primary can change employers as soon as EAD is received or should he wait for the 180 days to kick in?
