Thanks pdmar08. His 485 receipt does have the correct A# from his 140. I will talk to my attorney and see if they have any insights on this.

You should be ok but talk to your lawyer once. Its new to them too, ine user on this forum had a lawyer who knew that this change had been recently made.
since his priocessing will be with your case no need to worry actually.

Does it really take 30 days to receive the cards? The website also says that for AP the notice has been mailed but not for EAD.

One of the ways may be ask your parents to do an affidavit and present it to them for changing the record. I think Maharashtra Municipal Law allows that.

I had to correct the spelling of my father's name on the report, so I did get affidavits and a bunch of other stuff. They took their time but corrected his name (his full name) on it. What they refused to do was to add my last name or my mother's last name. Nothing i said would move them on that issue. If I get RFEd for it, I'll provide affidavits from my parents (which my lawyer asked me not to attach to the original packet, and keep as RFE response material for the future).

Oh ok. Elections just got over yesterday otherwise there were few 'other' ways :d if you have not tried those already.

Omg, this is a very interesting explanation for all the BC RFEs!!

    From user lovenil on trackitt:

"Seems like what Ron Gotcher mention on his forum seems to be true.

While approving AP and I-485, many officers are taking birth certificates from the files. So if only 1 copy of birth certificate was sent , it would go missing and generate RFE. Ron claims they have seen this before and that's why they started attaching 3 copies for all 3 applications."

A ration card with his father's full name, his mother's name (but no last name) and his name along with date and place of birth.
He submitted them along with 2 affidavits from his father and uncle.

I received an RFE to submit Non Availability Certificate, which I applied through ESEVA and as per them it will take 15 days to issue.
Thanks nayekal. im doing the same except ration card

Isn't all processing based on scanned soft copies now? The explanation is interesting but I don't think its true.
