    Hello Indiaeb2,

Do you have 10th Certificate (CBSE issues one and it will have your father's name on it) even 10+2 certificate will have your father's name, also see if you ever had a voter's ID card issued in India or a Pan card (not sure how much help these 2 docs will do). Also, the last page of Passport has parents name on it. See if you can also include affidavit from your relatives (one from either father or mother and another one from uncle/aunt).

Are you familiar with "Ration Cards" in India, your parents may know about it. It has details of all family members entered in it. See if you can get a notarized photo copy of that document.

Are they asking for all 4 documents or just one of these 4 listed in your message?

wont the passport biographic page work? it has your parent's name. Also, AISSE 10th class marksheet has date of birth and may be parent name. I have to check. If you have a relative who can provide you an affidavit. That should work too.

Check if you can get the College Leaving Certificate from India with the required info. I know it has DOB but leaving certificate generally doesn't have parents name.
Thanks. I will check this format. I am from TN. None of my certificate has parents name

Even if it is in Tamil, you can get it translated in English get it notarized along with copy of the original document. And then submit the translated and notarized copy along with photocopy of original to USCIS.

All the passports I have ever seen...have parents name entered on the last page of the passport.

I can understand your dilemma and advice already many friends are giving good I see.

I would just add that please use a lawyer to represent you in this RFE. It will be worth it.

I am not a lawyer, and it's always best to consult an immigration attorney.

This is the exact message my attorney gave when I asked about Birth Certificates
Affidavits from parents are not really acceptable. We can submit them as secondary proof. You need to get one more – from aunt, uncle, grandparents, neighbors, cousins (14 years old at least at the time of your birth), family friends, etc.

Yes Sirisha, you can ask your parents to scan it and email it to you. make sure it is clear and readable. Once they email you the copy, ask them to snail mail or courier you the original for your records.

One affidavit as a secondary proof from Uncle/Aunt, relative is good enough. Make sure the affidavit is in english even the rubber stamp or signature or anything on that affidavit should be in english.

    Guys

I have been seeing that lots of people are getting RFE for Influenza vaccine. I just checked my medical records(I693) submitted to USCIS and saw that the doctor has checked it "Not Age Appropriate". So, you think an RFE is on its way?

    indiaeb2,
In addition to ration cards, I wud suggest to send as much other info as possible e.g. affidavits from other relatives, school certificate. I think in absence of hospital records, school certificate is the best possible option. If you dont have school certificate, ask you parents/relatives to get it from the school. I believe they can issue a new one with parents name etc. Just my 2 rupees.... Hope u get ur gc soon....god speed.

A little early for me to worry about, but as I have seen BC related RFEs so here is my situation:

My original BC has my first name only, full names of my both parents, date of birth and date of registration - within 17 days of birth & hospital and place of birth. Everything is in English.

After I showed it to my attorney, she asked to either get affidavits or have the BC reissued. She suggested a reissued BC would be preferable if I am able to get it. The reason being the BC needed to show my full name. This was last year.

Thankfully, last Fall I was able to get my BC reissued with my full name. This one is bilingual but thankfully, it is obvious so I don't need any translation. Has anyone used a copy of reissued BC? Did you encounter any problems yet? Did you submit a copy of the old BC?

    Thanks!

    Random

RFE are random. So do not worr much. My BC had full names of parents and mine. It was in English registered after 33 days of birth. I still got RFE for BC. There was no other reason mentioned.

You seem set. However, refer to leo07's note above as to randomness of the RFEs.

I'm surprised you managed to get the BC reissued with the full name. The Brihanmumbai Mahanagar Palika flat out refused to add my mother's and my last names to my BC. Nothing could convince them otherwise.

I think you are ok. I posted this before but will write down again.
I think my original BC didn't had my name on it. I don't exactly remember but it was registered on next day so there's now way it had my name.
Original had dates, parents' name, etc. hand written and in local language.
About 2-3 years back, my father went to our Municipality and got new one with my name and everything. It is computerized and bi-lingual(Eng/local).
It has my original registration date but also has issued date as the current date. And it says Certified Copy and not the original.
    Did had any problem.

    Guys,

EAD/AP approved as per USCIS.gov website. No email/sms or any intimation form the attorney. We were waiting for this as we had plans for travel. Website mentions that EAD card production ordered but says nothing for AP. I know that these are combo cards but just want to make sure since we waited to travel. Does it really take 30 days to receive the cards? The website also says that for AP the notice has been mailed but not for EAD.
