Cool MJ Totally normal. You will get your notice by this week. You will get notices by USPS for everyone at home that filed along with you. You will get finger printing notice about 2 weeks from your ND, again by USPS for everyone you filed for. As someone else says, check your bank to see if checks are cashed.

    Thanks!
It took about 2 weeks for me to get it. You will get it soon.

Hey guys, just wanted to reiterate this forum rocks!
I was getting a little nervous thinking about what happened to my application as I didn't receive any notice from USCIS or my Lawyer.
But after getting so many reassuring messages and stories from you all, feeling better.
I will sit tight and wait another week or so.
    Thanks again

I don't think you need to be dressed in a suit for finger printing. Just the regular shirt & trouser/jeans that you would normally wear to work should be just fine.

  8. #2108
Formal wear with tie would be a good idea. 1) Experience in this office would be nice and you want to look better, 2) One thing in this whole process with no tension is finger printing.

    Thanks you, u too RC.
I have seen some posts that said even EAD card had the foto taken during finger printing, so i assumed if not EAD the new foto will be used for GC. If thats not the case i will go with simple formals.

My RFE says - Request for 'Initial Evidence' . Additional evidence could be something in addition to initial evidence? ( my guess)

Don't worry. My wife's RFE was also similar. All they asked was ID!!!
Once you submit docs, you will get GC in a week.

Get dressed how you want yourself to look in your greencard pic. Even your ethnic dress should be ok. Mainly they want your clear face view.
Your pic in GC won't be colurful. So doesn't matter much which color you wear.

I went in a regular t-shirt/jeans. Major pic portion in my GC shows the face and little shoulder portion. Plus I didn't have a clean shave that day.

    Thank you friend.

You deserve it. Congratulations. We have all waited too long.

btw about the RFE's being discussed. Initial evidence generally time given is 30 days. You can see instructions for form I-485 where it lists down initial evidence. And yes as per instructions itself, even EVL is an initial evidence, although it's not being treated as such by few lawyers.

Additional evidence which may be present in USA itself, is 30 to 60 days. Example is W2, tax returns.

Additional evidence which needs records not from USA is generally 84 days. Example is birth certificate.

I am not a lawyer, and it's always best to consult an immigration attorney.

Sirisha, I feel that the Masters/PhD in USA and fulltime position, fortune 500 all that is good for 2 month low hanging fruit approvals. After 3-4 months time frame, it don't matter.

Now with consulting, only thing is various location and end client changes, and how much the IO wants to sync up with your G-325 history, H1 history, LCA history and so on.

I can personally negate this rule. I have two masters from reputed universities in US. All my employment was in fortune 500/100, always a full-time,even during PT.

I can see your point...in fact believed that is the case until..
