    Multiple H1 apply question

    guys gals and gurus...

One of my friend is on L1 and looking to apply for H1 and wondering if he can apply multiple H1's from multiple companies...Does it hurt his chances of approval? Anything detrimental in this approach?

This is illegal. I believe USCIS can cancel all the applications.

It is perfectly legal to have multiple H1s. So absolutely no worries there.

What might raise suspicion of fraud and ultimately put somebody in trouble is - if the person tries to get H1 in many different areas that are unrelated.

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/usc...00b92ca60aRCRD There is a mention about multiple H1 filings. It's not clear about multiple employers.

Thanks asankaran. Yes - I meant multiple employers.

Same employer sponsoring multiple H1 can easily be seen as abuse of H1B.
