Never Forget - A Poem in Loving Memory of My Teacher

This is a poem that one of my teacher really loved. Writing it down in his loving memory. A very nationalist person as you can see. The poem is in marathi. Poet unknown.

राष्ट्रोन्नति एक मात्र ध्यान हेच चालु दे (Keep thinking about uplifting your nation.)
राष्ट्रजीवनात जीव जीवनान्त पाहु दे॥ (Die thinking about uplifting your nation.)
ध्यान हेच चालु दे.... (Never forget ...)

सोड भोग मोह स्वार्थ देह तुझा झिजो परार्थ (Let go off wordly pleasures. Work for the betterment of others.)
चंदनी सुगंध मंद आसमंत भारु दे॥१॥ (Like sandalwood's aroma your life should fill the hearts of people with joy.)
ध्यान हेच चालु दे.... (Never forget ...)


ध्येयभाव जो मनात येउ दे तुझ्या कृतीत (The idealistic dreams you have... let them take shape in real life)
कार्याची कीर्तिध्वजा दुरदेशि फुडकु दे॥२॥ (Expand your work .. in the lands afar...)
ध्यान हेच चालु दे.... (Never forget ...)

कर्मयोग हा ज्वलंत स्वीकारी तू नितांत (This path is a difficult one. But never deter.)
दिव्य तुझ्या हवनातुनि दीपमाळ उजळु दे॥३॥ (Let good things come out of your sacrifice.)
ध्यान हेच चालु दे.... (Never forget ...)

नकोत अन्य यज्ञ याग त्याग हाच मान याग (Let giving back to society be your ONLY religious ritual.)

Very inspiring. Reading gave me some hope today. I have been lately very tired mentally, all the while just thinking about the visa bulletins and what future holds for me. Lot's of thoughts. November 8th 2007, is my PD. What was I doing before that, why did I delay, I could have easily started 6 months earlier.

Glad you liked it. Green card is just a means to something that you probably want to do someday ... whether here in US or India. I too feel like having wasted a lot of time. But started building some ideas 4 years back. Hopefully something will come about in a year or two. Good luck!
