485 inventory is bogus. You can't base anything off of it. Q and Spec have weighed in on this before.

That's the last good known data you can base your predictions off. Few 485's before that had inaccurate numbers. Without it every prediction is going to be a shot in the dark.

There is no way to validate the accurecy of last 485 inventory.
Spec and Q are of the opinion that the reports are not accurate.

If you are using this date to predict then it is equal to looking at the sky and predicting 10 day forecast.

I rely on the EB2 numbers shown in that report, and I based my prediction of that. We can see in the next few months if it is accurate or not.

I wish your prediction comes true plus one more month.

How far will EB2I go in FY 2019? My PD is in September and H visa expiring in August. Thinking of not renewing it.

    Don't renew h1 . It's too risky

Not sure about the risk here. He has a EAD/AP to fall back on in the worst case. If the employer and position is solid, the risk of rejection is lower.

I have a friend whose H1 extension was denied - same company, same address, same role, same client...he had to go through some hoops but finally got the approval.

On L1-A side, consultants and testers continue to come from TCS/Genpact/Infosys/Capgemini (some in my company) and file in EB1-C. Absolutely no issues there.

One need to ensure they use the best immigration person or attorneys to handle their case of H1B these days. Also make sure to ask questions about how their case is presented, though law firms discourage it. Many law firms are not keeping up with how to present the petition as per new USCIS expectation. Also they allow paralegals to work on the case due to their over sight or heavy work load. I was miss-guided by a paralegal and had worst consequences in sixth year of H1B. That is when things take bad turn for us. I learnt not to TRUST any one and have been asking lot of questions when petition is being prepared and submitted even though they assure every thing is taken care from their side. I have proved them wrong many times.

This is unfortunately true for many things such as immigration, tax filings, pharmacies, travel agents etc etc. Far too many mistakes are made by people who should know better just due to incompetence or uncaring attitude where they have nothing to lose due to an error, but the cost is huge for the person on the other side.

    Hey guys,
After 10 years and 1 month, I finally got the message that the card is being produced. This after RFE at each step before I 485 and 6 RFEs after at I-485 stage ( all medical and job related), $13k spending in different fee (other then what company paid) and mistakes on USCIS end in 2014 ( sent the same RFE that I already responded and they accepted).

My biggest thanks to Big Brother Q and Spec. You guys may not know what this blog means to people like me. It gave me continuity in a process that is totally, otherwise, opaque. Thank you so very much.

I no longer provide calculations/predictions ever since whereismyGC.com was created.
I do run this site only as an administrator. Our goal is to improve clarity of GC process to help people plan their lives better.

I' wish everyone who gets green card a happy green card life and great carear ahead

Folks who are getting green card must be in 40s or late 30s. Should have sacreficed their social life.
    Lost connection with extended family
Were is poor socioeconomic status as they couldn't afford decent home/cars,etc as they had single earning family member.
Couldn't meet old friends back home as they couldn't travel due to various fears.
Couldn't fulfill dream of European vacation or african safari with family due to fear of being held in immigration upon return.
There may be few who didn't attend immediate family members funeral or could not see them when they were terminally ill.

    And many more...

Most of these are irreversible or even if can be done may not be as much fun when done at right time.

After 40 you don't have same energy level which you had in 20s or 30s.

Will share how it feels after getting GC.
May have diabetes or High BP by then.
