Nice to see everyone here along with some long timers. Good to see the forum is up and active. Hope everyone is doing well in these crazy times! Not to feed on someone else's misery, but I am sincerely hoping a large FB spillover does come to EB's way - it's been too long since EB2I received anything resembling a semblance of spillover. So many folks are due!

Anyway, this is a little off topic, and Q can move it to its own thread. I am looking for a mid level JAVA dev in the DMV area. Spring boot app is a must, python/building restful APIs is must (anyone who calls himself/herself a programmer should have no issues with this one) and AWS (general ecosystem knowledge suffices, not looking for deep expertise into specific services) and Spark/Spark API are huge pluses. We are building a very innovative next gen data lake platform that has the potential to become very big in our fairly large organization, so the ceiling is very high. I am working with several vendors already, but simultaneously, putting the word out there to see if I can find the diamond in the rough myself.

Looking for a software development manager/director combo position to replace me (I am not moving from the company, just moving to a different role). Job responsibilities (not limited to):
- People management (up to ~10)
- Budget forecasting
- Hiring (through approved vendors using the VMO system)
- Project management
- Ownership of feature roadmap
- Owning execution and deliverables
- Technical leadership
- Hands on contribution as needed

We work at possibly the best employer in the DMV area and have been consistently rated as one of the best mid-sized employers in the US. Cutting edge latest tech you can think of in a solid industry. Should know as many of the following as possible:

- Knowledge of as many AWS services as possible (compute, DB, storage being the big buckets)
- Databases and deep data modeling concepts
- Data streaming tech
- Data lake technologies
- Data replication tech
- JAVA based tech stack (we use spring boot)
- Enough hands-on skills to code your way through easy/moderate problems using whatever tool of your choice (python if you are sane)
- Complete grasp of the SDLC process (jira --> bitbucket --> jenkins --> docker/artifactory)

The pay and benefits are absolutely great...not quite in the Silicon Valley league but you won't find anything better on the East Coast here.
