Stuck in FP Security Check

Hello, I need help with a situation, I have filed 485 in Feb 2012, my priority date is Dec 16 2008. I did not get GC last time the date was current. I opened congressional inquiry and response i have is file is in security check. I have read in some cases that finger print expire and one has to go for finger printing again. Anyone has any idea about this?

gc_dec - i think there is no hard and fast rule here. I personally did FP in 2007 and received GC 2011. Never even bothered to think about FP. So if you have not received a notice to get another one done - don't worry too much. Just sit tight to get your date current (hopefully Jun 2015).

Thank you, but my file has been in security check for more than a year now, is it possible its because the FP has expired?

I hope somebody with similar experience might respond. What I can tell you is you can use Freedom of Information Act and ask for details or you can try to follow up from your senators office and ask USCIS what the problem is.

I wouldn't worry about FP expiring. Being stuck in FBI security check seems like a bigger thing. FP can always be redone and they will ask you if they need one.

6 months more have passed and still in Security Check. I read online that there were few cases like this in 2008. Dont know what to do !!
