Use all available options. You can pursue all of these in parallel.
- Open a Service Request with NCSC: You already did this and I am not sure if there is a point in opening another SR at this point. I opened 3 SRs - No update on the SRs from July and August (not sure why NCSC opened an SR in August when the July SR was open). I opened another SR on the morning of 9/2/2014 just to see if it helps. It was closed within an hour stating request cannot be expedited. I called NCSC and the L2 rep was very rude. She said 2 SRs are still open and that I am delaying my case by calling NCSC and by opening SRs
- InfoPass: https://infopass.uscis.gov/ I doubt if this will be useful at all. I had an InfoPass appointment on 8/28/2014. I didn't get any new information and was told that they cannot move the case. In fact, I was told that the case was not ready to be adjudicated
- Seek assistance of Ombudsman: http://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance After speaking to NCSC L2 I was so mad that I wanted to kill someone but that would make me a permanent resident of a different kind. So I submitted a DHS 7001 Request with on 9/2/2014.
- Seek assistance of your Congressman: Senator or House Rep. Some people opine that Senator is more effective but I have no proof for this. Either way, I chose a senator who was up for re-election this year and the House Rep for my area. I contacted their offices and faxed them the Immigration Privacy Release forms and documents - I-140 approval, I-485 receipt notice and RFE response bundle. Both offices told me it will take at least a week and could take up to a month.

I didn't work all day yesterday and I am not sure if any of these helped but I got a bunch of emails about an hour ago that my I-485 has been approved. So whatever...
