Lightbulb EAD & AP Without A Fingerprint Possible?

    Hi Gurus,

Is it possible for a person to get the EAD/AP approved before going for the FP ?

I have seen some cases on trackit where it has happened, and I am not sure if those cases were erroneously updated OR they were really cases where EAD/AP was received prior to FP.

I am not aware of a requirement to have FP cleared prior to having EAD/AP. My understanding is that you can have EAD / AP without waiting for FP.

    Q,

Thanks for the reply. How does the EAD/AP mail envelope look ? Does it have the usual TSC/NSC USCIS print on the top-left side of the envelope. Does it come via regular mail ? Do we need to be at home to receive it ?

I thought the order was receipt notices --> FP --> EAD/AP approval --> GC approval.

I never knew that there is no ordering between FP and EAD/Ap approvals. Thanks for the info.

On the same lines as "Muze to sab puliswalonki shakale ek jaisi dikhati hain." -- all USCIS envelops looked same to me. Never really thought much about them.

One thing I remember is they are not soft envelops. They are kind of hard ones (the likes of fedex). Not sure if things have changed. I had received mine over 7 years back! Sorry... that's the best i can tell you.

    Q,

Indeed all envelopes have been the same so far... These days its not hard envelope... Its soft envelopes for receipt notices at least...

Once can receive EAD - AP card prior to Finger Prints being taken but one will most certainly not receive GC before FP - well, there are exceptions but they always happen to friend of a friend
It will arrive in a soft-white-envelope 6" by 9" or so. It will look like a bank/utility statement mail. I do not remember whether the envelope has DHS or USCIS emblem or not. Do save the envelope and the whole enchilada until you get your GC.
