Oct 2005 to 2/20/2012: H1B visa with same employer as above
    2/21/2012 onwards: GC obviously

Additionally, my GC was for a Software Technical Lead position. By the time we applied, I was a software Architect, and that's what was on the EVL. Lawyer specified each date period and positions I held, and showed progressive promotions. And a little secret, from 3/1/2012 I am to be the Software Development Manager of a team. The lawyer told me promotions like these are not at all a problem, and same was corroborated by Q to me on this forum.

Hearty Congrats Nishant!!!... seeing your many posts here and trackitt, obviously 'your sweet spot' theory turned right. Enjoy this day tomorrow whole week and plan for good vacation soon. Do keep visiting this forum some time and provide your valuable suggestions to others. I am also in your sweet spot theory ( but TSC), our two lives went almost in similar time lines (USA arrival, MS, H1, buying home, marriage, priority date etc), hopefully I will follow you soon

    Best of luck Buddy!!!

A quick update - the company lawyer mailed in today confirming that they have received the receipts for both my spouse and me leading to great relief. Both our statuses are visible in the system...

Also congrats Nishant on the great news

One question about your online status if you don't mind answering. Was your I-485 status in Initial Review until today from when it was picked up (first week of Dec). Or did it change in the past few days or after your FP?

I again got text message and emails for case status, same card production ordered, same as I got earlier in the day, right now. I am not complaining. double confirmation!

I wonder if I will further get updates similar to EAD card, where the status changed to approval notice mailed, and then to USPS picked up mail, and then to USPS delivered mail.

yeah man frankly speaking all theories eventually fail with USCIS.

Anytime now. Only factor against you is your ND is late, meaning your RD also might be late. Right now they are seeming to be dipping into December first week around.

you said it right. I was just thinking about how I went to Bombay and was standing in line for the student visa interview, nervous and scared, 10.5 years back. Really, the entire decade is flashing by. Near my present home, there is a train line, not very near by, but enough that at night, you can hear trains going by at a distance, the sound of the whistle, a bit. It's kind of nostalgic, I don't know how to put it, but that noise takes me far back into the days of India, into the daily commute of 4 years I did for engineering via train.

there is an old hindi song for those who know:, from an old classic movie, Dharmendra in Dost:

"gaadi bula rahi hai, citi baja rahi hai,
chalna hi zindagi hai, chalti hi jaa rahi hai"

Yeah, I have a similar timeframe as yours with MS and work. It's hard to forget all those events in the journey. Hopefully after getting the precious in the hand we wont forget how much this moment meant for a long time.

Congratulations Nishant and everyone who got 485 approvals recently.

I received two 485 approval notices (I-797) too, within a week apart. Both came after GC reached and it has a line "...we will soon mail you a new permanent resident card..". They really need to fix such simple things.

Yep, got two mails as well but had a little different case status - corresponding to the last statuses shown in online case status. I believe decision and post decision.
Yes, you will get mailed, mail pickedup and delivered notifications.

Let us wait and watch. There should be something in the mailbox today or tomorrow.
