You are, statistically speaking, an outlier , and buddy, so am I. I myself have bachelors in engineering from reputed university in India, two masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering from reputed universities in USA, I made my file reach first day of opening itself. Everything done from my side. I see March 2008 getting approved, while you and me are sitting twiddling thumbs

And this not a rule, I am just saying if file comes into hand, IO might forgive few discrepancies and scrutiny and bless it faster, to meet the visa utilization goals. There will be very few 2 month approvals, and if you have this criteria satisifed, you serve better chance of being part of that 2 month approval. That's all I maintain.

Count me in as an outlier as well. Working for Fortune 500 for last 7 years with Masters degree. I think now our cases become statistically significant :-). So there is probably some other reason. I agree, I think it's mostly related to the officer who is handling your case & background checks.

One question to fellow Q'ers. Our ead/ap got approved on Feb'04, my wife received her EAD (she also got email telling usps picked up her card and delivered), but for some reason I did not received by EAD (infact email telling usps picked up). Should I open SR or should i wait for a week?

Yeah man, frankly, I am coming to a conclusion that we can throw away all theories and logic and algorithms. And instead work on chaos theory , which initial conditions led to this situation of today

Luck of the draw! May god help all.

You deserve it. Congratulations. We have all waited too long.

btw about the RFE's being discussed. Initial evidence generally time given is 30 days. You can see instructions for form I-485 where it lists down initial evidence. And yes as per instructions itself, even EVL is an initial evidence, although it's not being treated as such by few lawyers.

Additional evidence which may be present in USA itself, is 30 to 60 days. Example is W2, tax returns.

Additional evidence which needs records not from USA is generally 84 days. Example is birth certificate.
Thanks buddy! We ALL deserve it!!

My humble opinion - lets not please read too much on RFEs unless it's serious issues like missing RFE response due to address change, criminal records minor though,
messed up while on H1 - example not filing H1 amendment and all ..again IMHO

My own experience - thought of doing bungy jumping in a river, turned out to be just a simple dive from 8 ft, into a pool

Been in US since 1997.... working mostly in startups doing core embedded development.... never bothered about GC - until wife was diagnosed with cancer and had to continue staying here for her treatment! (In between moved back to India and the docs (best of the breed :-) declared she was completely cured.... Came here for second opinion and they still found it in her!!!). Now she is in the hands of one of the world's best doc.

I did not expect things to move this fast... so, even if it gets delayed - no worries. In any case, I appreciate your wishes - thankyou.

I also know a consultant who is February 2008 PD, and he got approved in 2 months 1 week. So yeah, please remove this thing from mind that they are on a witch hunt for consultants in 485 adjudication. I do think they are out for such a witch hunt in H1, L1, and we can see the results, but you are ok with GC phase.

Now with consulting, only thing is various location and end client changes, and how much the IO wants to sync up with your G-325 history, H1 history, LCA history and so on.

friend, you are doing the best you can for your wife, I can see the faith and confidence in you.

by the way, you are NSC, and if processing time remains 4 months, when the 4 month is gone, or as soon as the advertised processing time is up, and if you still don't have GC, please go ahead and open congressional inquiry and mention to congress man or senator to request to expedite on basis of humanitarian grounds, so that your wife remains in the care of the world's best doctor, and your employment in USA can continue to sustain her treatment, your family, and provide the best care to your family.

Thanks and don't take stress about this thing. No one is targeting consultants in 485 phase. There is no Employee - Employer direct relationship memos or directives here.

Quick update. Things are moving as per schedule. I received all the Receipt Notices today (all six of them) and the checks cleared on last Fri. Now waiting for the FP Appointment Letter. I am planning to do an early walk-in as soon as I get the appointment letter.

Ragx, best wishes for your wife's complete recovery and good health. Your positive attitude is admirable. You have a lot going on with the added complications of GC processing, may you and your wife get greened soon in the coming weeks. Nishant has given you sound advice, you should definitely open seek your congressman's help if you are delayed beyond 4 months.

    Nishant, you'll get your GC approval before 2/25 I dont have Soggadu's and IndiaEB2 baba's clairvoyance...just a gut feeling.

Wishing a speedy recovery for your wife and god speed on your GC process.

I like your attitude. I just pray that you get the best in your life.

There are so many events in life that we have to take this GC journey in perspective and not get bogged down with trivalities like someone getting approved a day before, week before etc. We will get it when we are supposed to.

Thanks for sharing your story. You already dealt/dealing with much bigger problems than GC, you are a hero. I wish all the best luck in the world for you.

Mysati, well said dude! We can't change the past - not sure what the future holds. The best thing we can do is live every moment of the 'present' and make it count! Life is short guys - don't waste it with unnecessary complications.

Nishant, thanks for your advice dude. Could you please share some details/links about such procedure?

    Thankyou.
