from my experience, I have seen NSC is slow on FP notices, but quicker on everything else, including 495 processing. TSC on the other hand is quick only on sending out FP notices, nothing after. So, you can decide where you fall.
FP notices bear no significance on your EAD/AP arrivals. So, you are ok, not to worry.

That isn't true I guess...at least for NSC(or my case). My RD LUD was 15th Nov and got FP on 10th Dec.
TSC is faster in terms of FP.

no... it only changes when EAD/AP/485 is worked on... doesnt update during FP notice.

the lawyer says it may take 2-3 weeks to receive the cards.

Quick question: Does GC approval means 485 approval? My PD is Oct 2008, since the visa numbers might not be available, will my 485 will stay in initial status until number or available? Or will my 485 will be approved and i will get the actual card when numbers are available?

Yes...GC approval = 485 approval..
485 doesn't get approved unless visa number is assigned to it. If everything is clear and 485 is waiting for visa number it is called pre-adjudicated.
I don't think you can track that status via online dashboard but I believe with InfoPass you can get this information.
