We haven't seen any LUDs on our applications after our FP. It has not been 5 working days since our FP dates though. So, maybe there'll be one in the next few days. I'll keep you posted.

Did you get this information from Trackitt? If this had been the case, wouldn't that mean that people with Oct filing dates who got their FP done late Oct would have their EADs by now? Do we have any October filers on these forums other than Leo? I know Leo is still waiting for his EAD.

Yes the info is from Trackitt. On the Oct thread someone had commented that people are getting EAD / AP after a month of filing. It may be a different story for us because the Oct batch was just 2.5-3K in size while ours is 7.5-8K so there is definitely more work for them this time. Additionally from Dec 1st another big wave of filers is coming so things would slow down for sure. AFAIK, Leo is the only Oct filer in our forum here. Thanks for the info on the LUD; I guess you are the earliest one to get FP done from our batch.

Just to confirm... They will select the FP ASC based on my home address and not based on my employer's address correct??

I believe so. My home address and employer address are in the same area (Washington DC Metro).

However, I am currently vacationing in the Bay Area, CA and just took the appointment notice to the nearest ASC. This saved me from having to reschedule my appointment or altering the vacation plans.

    Teddy and others,

PD July 2nd 2007, filed I485, 765 and 131 on Oct 6th, CIS received on 7th, ND on Oct 18th, recd fp on 10/27. Date of FP appointment 11/23, went for walk-in on Nov 1st. There is no LUD on the same. I dont think there will be any on FP, verified with FBI if the prints are processed and are good. Currently waiting for EAD/AP. I have not heard of any who filed at TSC receiving EAD/AP in a month's time. Yes, folks who filed at NSC getting their EAD/AP in 45 days time. TSC is sending FPs quicker than NSC, but EADs are coming through sooner at NSC. I will keep you guys posted as and when I get any updates. thanks.

If we go by trackitt, the avg time is 65 days for EAD / AP approvals and not sure whether it is just the duration between received date and approval date or received date and AP received date. Seems like it is an avg of all service centers.

Hi all, it turns out my lawyer made a mistake in my EVL. The salary that I am supposed to receive upon issuance of the green card was listed incorrectly. He didn't actually admit to making a mistake, he gave me some vague explanation and said that he is going to send a cover letter and the new EVL. What impact is this going to have on my application? Is this going to cause problems or delays? I really hope not (just fyi, I just recently filed my application - notice date Nov 9, FP date Dec 15)

Correction the EAD / AP issuance date for some filers is 1 month from the FP date not the filing date. So some folks have been able to get EAD / AP in 2 months time. Right now some Aug filers are getting greened, so minimum of 4 months to GC and looks like minimum 2 months to EAD / AP.

Imechanix, there is a thread on Trackitt where someone mentioned that some receipt numbers are not working on case status online. Don't worry about it. When you have the next LUD I guess you numbers will work. I have personally had the same experience with my H1 and I140.

I am facing the same issue. The USCIS website does not recognize the receipt numbers. I guess nothing to be concerned about at this time...

    Service Center: NSC
    Receipt date: 11/15/2011.

    No 485 Receipt Notices Yet!

    Hi Guys,
My lawyer filed 485 AOS along with EAD and AP for me and my wife on Nov 10th. My PD is 3rd Oct'07 and I got current in the Nov bulletin. Both me and my lawyer have not received any receipt notices yet fro USCIS. I am kind of getting worried..is this normal wait time? Please advise.

Yes. I received it after 18 days from my I-485 receipt date.

Thanks for the info nayekal. I am assuming that things probably are moving slower with Thanksgiving holidays ...hopefully I should receive the receipt notices soon.

Thanks Teddy & others for the information on USCIS online update status. My only concern is that if the online status update is not resolved and if there is an RFE I would have to depend only on USPS mail.

    Hi gcjones..

That's music to my ears that you were able to complete biometrics in the Bay area, while being scheduled for FP in Alexandria.

I had posted a question a few days ago, regarding this, whether this could be done.

Which ASC did you go to San Jose, or San Francisco?

My ASC is Boston, MA, but I will be in the Bay Area around the time I get my FP notice, and would like to get it done there...

Did you just walk in? U mentioned that you didn't have to justify anything? What day of the week and at time did you go for FP?

Sorry about asking too many questions....but appreciate your answers very much.

Good luck with the rest of the 485 journey!!

Even tough my ND is 25 Nov I see LUD on 29NOV ..haven't received FP Notices yet ...as per Teddy and others normally Hard LUD are not issued for FP Notices. So what could this LUD after ND probably mean? Any ideas?

'Hard' vs 'Soft' LUD - How to Use It To Track Your Case With USCIS

If you heard people talking about keeping track of 'Soft' and 'Hard' LUDs on forums and other websites, and wondered what it is, now you can understand what is LUDs and how you can use them to track any activity on your petition that is pending with USCIS. LUD is an abbreviation for 'Last Updated Date'. In order to track any activity on your pending petition, you will first need to register an account with USCIS to check your case status online.

Here is a link to register for USCIS case tracking system. Once you are registered to the system, you will need to add each case you want to track based on receipt number on notice that you had recently received from USCIS. You will see your case as shown below. You can track LUD (Last Updated Date) on your case in column shown with red box below.

You can go into each case to check your status. USCIS allows an individual to setup an email or mobile alert to track case status update.

    Hard LUDs
"Hard" LUD (Last Updated Date) is one where you see status update to your case. Example from "Initial Review" to "Decision". Here you know why case was updated; you can see the update status online. You can even get an email or mobile alert, if you had opted for this option. However, the status will only change if the USCIS updates your case from one to other (receipt notice, approval notice, request for evidence (RFE), notice of intent to deny (NOID), card production, or other documents) or on receipt of response to RFE, NOID or request to premium process the case.

    Soft LUDs

"Soft LUD" is one where you will not see any change in status or get an email alert from USCIS. These are the internal activities that occur at USCIS. For example your I-485 case has been processed and ready to be approved, but USCIS could not approve it because your priority date is not current. Others like your fingerprints get added in the system, your background check results are received, your case was moved internally from one cabinet to other or moved from one service center to other etc. You can track this by logging into USCIS Case Status system and checking "Last Updated" column in your portfolio. If you know that you expect any update in your case due to FP or background check or your I-485 is about to process, you can track this based on "Soft LUD". But again, this is all based on guesstimate and no one other than USCIS knows what is the real reason behind the update. My personal opinion is that I would not lose my sleep over tracking Soft LUDs. You will never get anything useful from it.

    Hope this help.
