Thread: Post 485-Filing

  1. #951
Guys, Excuse me for the delay. I received EAD approval mails for me and my wife on 1/12/2012. I am a Nov filer with PD Oct 2007.
This is from TSC ( am i the first from TSC). No cards received yet.

About a week back my attorney mailed AP of my daughter which was approved on Dec 15th. Not sure if EADs goes directly to attorney. No approval emails for AP. If EAD/AP is a single card, why don't they get approved go together?

    Help me understand...

Why is my AOS package being sent to Tempe Arizona? How does this work? I always knew only NSC, TSC and VSC. Whats this thing in Tempe ? How does all this work?

Guys: Can I travel outside the US after filing I485/EAD/AP. I have received my receipt notices and I have completed my finger printing. I have a valid H1B stamped on my visa, valid till Aug 2012. My company wants me to travel international (1 week), an urgent requirement came in. I sent mail to lawyer, no response yet. Thought will ask you guys. I concerned if the I-94 details and last entry into US etc info provided in 485 app will become invalid. Not sure if its a valid concern. Thanks for your input

It goes to lockbox and from there it's sent to appropriate SC.
    Check this.

Each case is different and only your lawyer can give you accurate info. I do not know your case to comment, but..

I have a personal situation that requires me to go to India and my lawyer said I am free to travel on H4 once Finger Printing is done.

I think LockBox facilities generates the notices. Based on which SC your I-140 was approved your SC is determined.

You are one lucky guy i guess. I don't see any issues. The better part is they have to pick your case when it is ripe since your PD shows 2005. If all documents are in place and IO is comfortable approving your case you will be greened pretty soon. Good Luck.

Yes, you can travel and re-enter US if you have a valid H1 stamping at the time of re-entry.

man I have got zilch nada zero null undefined void 0 shunya. no FP, no EAD/AP. Since last summer, my life has been on edge, first living month to month for each VB, and now living day to day for that USPS mail, or email or sms.
I am not a lawyer, and it's always best to consult an immigration attorney.

    Nishant, I hear you bro...

I think the FP notice has something to do with the workload at the ASC closest to you. If you could start a new thread on this forum and on other forums (trackitt, imminfo.. etc..) with the details of your expected FP location and check if people have received FP notices at the centre, you could possibly gauge the demand there..

    Just a thought..

  16. #966
If you meant about docs Received SMS, I think you need to file a form along with the application. I don't recall that but Nishant mentioned is sometime back.

If you meant for status updates, rfe/approvals/deinal SMS/Emails you can go to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do and register yourself.
Once you get the recipts, enter your Case# and select text and email options.

I have never heard of getting receipts via email.

    ChampU,

I agree. In my area, even my friend with RD of 11/4 has not got FP notice. There is one more with RD of 11/29 , no notice. Plus they know others from NSC, Nov filers, even they have not got it. I also know a guy from trackitt, who is a Dec filer, in my area, but TSC, even he has not got it, generally TSC is fast.

How crowded can my ASC be? People in Los Angeles have got it, which is like the headquarters of all sorts of immigration

Something's really messed up with Ventura county ASC.

I think they should generate the notice, even though it maybe 2 months in advance, and make rule not allowing early walk in unless genuine emergency. That will give peace of mind.

    Nishant,

Can you check with the folks with Nov. RDs,if they had opened SRs with the NSC ?(they must have).. Its likely that they would have received a response by now.. That will give you an idea about whats going on..

    Gurus,

Any idea what AC I-140 is? Ron Gotcher talks about it as a way to beat retrogression..

I think it is a glorified form of changing your AoS to CP, paying another set of fees I will leave it to someone who is more knowledgeable to explain in detail.
