I opened a service request today. I called customer service, she asked me it had been more than 30 days since I got the filing receipts in hand, I said yes, because it was so, and then she opened service request, and said that I will get a response from the NSC within 15 days.

Customer service does not seem to have any detailed extra information on your case, that I noticed. However, they are very very courteous and professional, very impressed with customer service.
I am not a lawyer, and it's always best to consult an immigration attorney.

I have a unique situation due to dates moving to Jan'09 in this visa bulletin. I have PD of Oct'07 EB2-I and filed 485 at NSC on Nov 14th along with my wife as dependent. She has her own Oct'08 PERM which is now current. I have following questions:
-Should my wife file 485 again as primary and me as dependent? Is that okay? We just want to reduce risk if either 485 goes into audit.
-My wife's company doesn't pay for 485 dependent filing(they will pay for her 485) so it should cost us about $1070 ..is this really worth doing?
-Also another issue is my wife just came to know that her 140 as filed as EB3 even though her labor which cleared audit was approved for EB2. She has spoken to her lawyer and they said they will file new 140 and 485 concurrently. Is this doable?
    Gurus,please respond with your thoughts.
    Hi,
can you please tell me what doid you end up doing? i have the same situ and have applied for my wife as my dependent but her receipt has her own PD, which was not current when we filed.
I am trying to see if that is normal? my lawyers are going to talk to USCIS too.

    I 485 checks

How does this typically work? My husband's company will pay his processing fee. Would it be via a check or does the law firm have direct deposit/credit other means they write a check themselves?

So frustrated. The HR said they would pay for my husband and that we have to pay for myself, which we did already. Now, the lawyer said they will co-ordinate with HR for my husband's processing fee.

We are submitting signed docs today. Curious to know how this process works?

    Thanks!

RD is the official day USCIS has received your application/s.
ND is the day they have issued the receipt notices (usually 1-2 days after the RD).

Really?? You are frustrated about that?
How does it matter in what format the lawyer is paid? Don't you trust the employer?
If you are going to be current in Feb, then relax and before a week ask your lawyer if everything is in place.
Mine same case, I asked the lawyer before a week to confirm if everything is ready and he replied the package is ready to be mailed.

    Niw

A question - This might not be the right place to post this, but please delete after I have the answer.

I am on EB2-NIW, am I considered loss of status if I lost job after I have filed I-485? Can I legally stay? Thanks.

A friend of mine got a GC card yesterday. His priority date was June 27, 2007 and applied for AOS in the 2nd week of Oct 2011. Infact last week only he got an EAD/AP card and his wife never got instead she recieved GC card along with him..

Not an expert - but my thought is that if you have EAD then you are eligible to stay and pursue another job. I think this has been discussed before in this forum - see if you can search it out.

GC0907, Well, do not judge a person before you know their background It is not the matter of trusting the employer. As for my urgency, every day matters. Anyways I appreciate your response. Again, not everyone is up to date in all immigration matters. We are quite new to all this. What we know now is what we have learnt the past 1 month.

    RMS,

I understand your frustration, but try to just forget everything once you send the packet to your attorney, 'cos things are out of your control from that point of time. I don't mean to state the obvious, but sometimes it helps.

Relax and am sure good things will happen soon.
