It is entirely normal for TSC to approve the AP before EAD .I received the email notifications for my spouse's AP approval before the EAD. I never received my email approvals but actually got both cards in the mail . The notification system is actually kind of broken in a way. TSC is also waiting for FP before approving EAD in most cases. By the way according to my lawyer the FBI fingerprinting check will happen on the same day you do the FP .The prints are sent digitally to FBI and they do the background check on the same day. Even the name check in most cases takes 3-4 weeks untill and unless there is a specific alert on the name. The entire wait is actually for an L2 officer to take a look at the file after all the checks are done and approve the case .

. Anyway, best of luck. I wish you are able to go back and see her soon. My advice, take advantage of this week and do all those things you can't do once your daughter is back. I'm thinking romantic dinners, horror movies, drunken parties, filing your tax returns, etc.
