It has been quite a ride. I thank everyone who had helped me to put-up with the stress. I apologize if I had hurt someone's feelings. It was not my intent. I want to thank 'Q' for his openness and encouraging discussions in a civil manner and ofcourse for the effort he puts in to keep this blog running. I will try to stick around and help everyone to the best of my abilities. But eventually we will all lose interest in GC after some time. I want to share any info I collect on N-400 here as the next step. Good Luck all.
    Phew! Congratulations, Idliman!!!

My SR came back with standard response of with adjudicating officer and wait for 60 days last month, so was curious on how much time after SR did you get a RFR.
I did my I-485 J in 2019. Then the RFEs for G-325A and I-693 were submitted in Oct 2019. So my medicals are still valid. The AO did not send new RFE.

I think I summarized my actions earlier in a post. SR in first week of March. It was shot down immediately. Then Congressman query 1 in 2nd week of Mar. It came with PD not current. Then congressman query 2 around 20APR. That came with a 90 day clock. Congresman aide told me to trust him and not to call USCIS anymore.

Congratulations Idliman, good to see old timers getting through with the process. When you filed for 485J back in 2019, was it the first time you filed for 485J? Trying to find out if there will be a need to submit this form again due to long wait times in approving 485

Yes. It was the first I-485J and only move to a different job. Funny that I am doing the same job at the same desk on the same computer (monitor) eventhough technically on paper it is a AC21 move. I wrote the AC21 justification myself, manager signed it and sent to attorney.

    1. I-485 J is on file and the applicant is working for the same employer on H1B.
    2. H1B renewed recently. So my I-94 status is H1B.
    3. I-693 is valid and unexpired.

I believe this is why another RFE was not issued for my case.

    Hi Friends,

I am happy to report that today we received our green cards in mail. When I looked at my GC, I couldn't believe that I waited for that small piece of plastic for more than a decade. As such, I was eligible for EB1, being a university professor. But once the university sponsored my GC in EB2 category, they didn't want to spend money again, and I also didn’t care much, since I already had the EAD/AP card, and never thought it would take so long in the first place. Well, it doesn't matter anymore.

The GC doesn't bring any new benefits to me in my professional career, as my livelihood doesn't depend on my job anymore. I also love my current job, plus it comes with the lifetime guarantee due to the "tenured" status. But the GC will definitely help in my personal endeavours. Since my job comes with three months summer holidays and one month winter holidays, I plan to spend 4 months in India with my mom and remaining eight months in the US annually from now on. This will be a great exposure to India for kids as well before they go to middle school.

I have been on Q's forum since its inception, and can't thank Q enough for creating this wonderful platform. Also a special thanks goes to "Spectator" for providing us accurate predictions over the years through his unique data crunching abilities. Finally, I also like to thank all kind souls on this forum who contribute to the forum by helping each other. More recently, idli is doing a great job.

I wish you all the best in your own green card journey! Next 1-2 years belong to us!

@vedu and @idliman, congratulations on getting Greened!! Hope all the best for your future! It's been a long time coming and well deserved. I personally know a couple of friends who got greened recently and both had the same to say. "Yeah, we are happy but mostly relieved that the wait is done". It's a shame that us (the Indian nationals) do not get to experience the pure happiness ROW folks feel when they hear the same news. Do keep visiting this forum and imparting your words of wisdom for the newer members who happen to stumble upon this great platform.

    Great news! Many Congratulations! Enjoy!

As such, I was eligible for EB1, being a university professor. But once the university sponsored my GC in EB2 category, they didn't want to spend money again, and I also didn?t care much, since I already had the EAD/AP card, and never thought it would take so long in the first place. Well, it doesn't matter anymore.

The GC doesn't bring any new benefits to me in my professional career, as my livelihood doesn't depend on my job anymore.
