Thread: Celebrations & Thanks

Good luck to the (finally) new permanent residents. I am sure it will help with the feeling of belonging to this country a little more than before, besides the other obvious benefits of stress-free travel to anywhere at any time and removal of any work restrictions.

It does seem like a lot of folks getting approval, even coming out of the woodwork on this forum -- guessing this hasn't happened before in the history of the forum? (question for the OG's here). My initial thought was that maybe this is kind of normal during Q4 of a fiscal year with more approvals -- but I'm guessing since the dates barely moved last 5-10 years for India (or retrogressed often), that Q4 approvals were nothing to talk about previously over the years. So even with most of the spillover being wasted and not utilized, it does appear that EB2/EB3 India are still seeing the benefit.

I second that. Fingers crossed so that the wastage is minimal.

USCIS software is case status portal is glitchy off-late for I-485 status. If you like you could call USCIS live agent on phone and get status from them.

    Dear All,

I'm elated to share that my family and I have received our GCs last week (EB2-I 04/2011). It was certainly challenging to maneuver turbulent times all these years, being on H1-B visa the past 15 years. I'd like to thank all of you for providing valuable insights throughout this journey.

    Hello All,
We have received our GC card in hand today. I would like to thank one and all who helped us understand the process and kept us grounded with realistic expectations and wisdom. This forum is a huge help. Special thanks to Q, Spec, Idliman etc.

Quick observation: At this point the approvals seem to be very random but I have seen bunch of early 2011 EB2-I folks getting GC as well so hang tight and you will see the magical card or status very soon. I wish you all the very best and good luck.

    Below is the timeline:

PD: Dec 20 2010 (EB2-I) Both myself and my spouse
    RD: Oct 02 2020
    ND: Oct 17 2020
    FP: Dec 03 2020
    EAD/AP Approval: Dec 12, 2020
New Card Being produced: July 29 2021
    I485, i485J Approval - Jul 28 2021
    Card Was Mailed: 08/02/2021
    Care Received: 08/04/2021

Congrats! We also received our cards today! Great to see some early Oct filers finally start getting approvals after being buried while people in late Oct were getting greened.

    Finally we are Greened.

Thank you, Q, Spec and other members of the forum, it was very useful your guidance, especially the data/metrics you used to predict visa bulletins and date movement, and of course in-depth details about immigration issues.
It was so useful last 12+ years.
I missed I-485 filing by 2 months in 2012, also missed in 2015 due to Visa bulletin fiasco , watching closely all Visa bulletins and forums anxiously, rest you can imagine .

    Here are my time lines:
    PD: 06/25/2010
    Category: EB2 I
    Receive Date: 10/20/2020
    Notice Date: 11/25/2020
Medicals: Submitted with original filing in Oct'2020
    Finger prints: 05/04/2021
    EAD/AP Approval: 06/24/2021 (Expedite request)
    I-485J Received : 06/15/2021
    I-485 Approved: 07/30/2021
    Green Cards in Hand: 08/09/21

    FO: National Benefit Center
    Residence/Location: Fremont, CA

Note: Initial applications for my family memebers were rejected, due to missing info in the applications, we refiled in Dec'2020. The green cards are approved for all members same time.
