Rest of the week - let this freedom sink in and am going to enjoy this feeling for a while.
Feels nice to be a free man after 11 years of wait and 15 years in this country.

He was in EB3 catagory. So wouldn't have been problem I guess. EB3I is at Dec 2004 now.(really happy for EB3I guys)

Still that date was outside the range of pure EB3-I quota. The difference between May and Dec 2004 is a few months demand for EB3-ROW and thus depending on how efficiently USCIS processed EB3-ROW even May 2004 wouldn't have achieved.

Interesting observations. But USCIS cannot realistically process fresh I-485 cases that fast. Fresh I-485 cases has to go through steps like FBI check, name check. This involves multiple agencies and delay introduced by them.

Q, you can stretch your point for debate sake but I don;t agree with your point. In all probability EB3I is going to progress in coming year.

  20. #470
Yes EB3I will continue to progress without a doubt. The reason is very simple. They are at the bottom of the rung of Visa hierarchy. So DoS has no reason to move those dates in a knee jerk reaction.

You probably didn't understand my point. What I meant to say is EB3-I wouldn't have reached even May 2004 on its own let alone Dec 2004. The difference between May and Dec is not much given most EB3 have already ported. That difference is barely 2-3 months of EB3-ROW demand. Given how EB3-ROW moved 2 or more years in a single year - 2-3 months is 10% of that demand which means if USCIS was even 10% more diligent in processing EB3-ROW - EB3-I wouldnt reach even May 2004.

Just trying to explain if you didn't understand. If you have a different view point would love to hear.

Not always true. Many folks - particularly from EB1 - have 485 processed in 4 months. In fact most EB1-A/B folks have them done in 4-8 months. That's why you don't see EB1 folks visiting these kind of forums!

    Q,
None of this explains why you said gcq got lucky. If I am missing something so be it. Its not imprtant now as gcq has GC already.

Because GCQ's date is May 2004 - or I may be wrong. That's what I thought.

How is life treating you post GC!! ??
