Expired EAD Alien number for I-485 forms?

I am filing my I-485, Advance parol and EAD coming August. I also have to fill out those forms for my wife. My wife has an expired EAD card (expired in 2004-2005) from her OPT on f1 visa. In that there is one A# mentioned. I guess that is an alien number. My wife is currently on H4 visa for last 3 years. My questions is:

Should I use that alien number for filing her I-485 and other related forms, as it is expired already? Or should I leave alien number field blank in her forms?

Primus - My understanding is that A# once assigned stays constant and never expires. So if indeed that is A# then that's the one. It is not expired. You may want to hear from others too. Best wishes.
