Confusion about H4 to F1 COS

Hello,

I need help understanding F1 visa procedure. I filed for H4 to F1 visa COS through a lesser known education institute, very small in scale and USCIS has already received my application. However, very recently, I got an admission in a prestigious university and they are also ready to issue me I-20 so that I can change to F1 . Now obviously, once I go to India I would like to come back on F1 visa based on known university's I-20 rather than the small institute. What should I do now? How can I retrieve my previous application of COS ?

I can give you my opinion - pl take what it's worth.

If you leave US before approval of your COS - the request would be considered abandoned anyway. I do not think it would be seen in any unfavorable light when you go to obtain your F1 in India. So if I were you - I wouldn't worry about it. All the best.
