Red face WorldCup 2011 - Poll & Discussion

    Folks,

After having huge doses of EB movement guesses, its time to make a guess for World Cup Winner this time. Please have your vote in..

Personally i think India,New Zealand and Australia are looking good contenders for finals. Looks like Bangladesh has a huge home advantage to secure a spot in Quarter Finals ! Any opinions ?

Admin : Please feel free to move this thread to any other forum listing if needed.

    Good Luck !

Pakistan has a good team, Misbal-ul-Haque will be the guy to reckon with.

They had to do it because of last world cup fiasco where India Pakistan got eliminated in earlier round and so only and all matches were empty theater.
This format will make sure reputed teams make it to quarter.

I kind of agree with you. India does not have any real competition other than England !
Going into Quarter finals should be a certainty for India.

As long as India wins against Pakistan, I really don't care what happens to WC.

Unhappy Long way to go for India yet...

India's bowling and fielding performance was pathetic against England.
We got lucky with sudden Powerplay turn around(or rather England got unlucky)
With such low quality performance India cannot/should not win the WC.

Indian captain acknowledged this fact though. If we cannot defend a total of 338, we should not hope for WC trophy. Even Bangladesh made 285 odd runs against us !
Without huge lift up in bowling & fielding, I highly doubt we will make it beyond the quarter finals !!!

I usually am not a cricket fanatic yet watched this match. And since I watched it after a looooooooooooooong gap (may be 5-10 years) I felt that our fielding has improved. When I was a kid I remember Amarnath, Roger Binny etc running after the ball like a toddler!! And then Azhar came and he suddenly elevated the fielding to a new level. Sachin has always been a good fielder himself. And now almost everybody seems much better

(but of course no point comparing to 20 years back!) Its quite possible that we may still be way behind other teams.
