Thank God! Finally my journey of green card has come to an end. It was amazing to see the blue symbol & to read "On February 13, 2012, we ordered production of your new card".
I would like to thank Q, Spec, Veni, Teddy, Leo, Nishant & all the other wonderful people of this forum. Although I was not much of a contributor but always felt part of this great community intitated by Q. Thanks for that.
It's been more than 10 years since I have gone back to India & it will be wonderful to see my family back home.
Leo & Teddy,
Don't worry. You will greened pretty soon just like that. I can understand what you are going through.
Thanks again!
Since you already gave your most recent I-94, don't worry about the old ones. Very few people keep copies of old I-94 since it is taken by the Airlines when you leave the country. Only the current I-94 is the mandatory initial evidence.
About other parts of your RFE, did you not include a BC or NABC with your 485? For the third part, you need to provide the copy of the following: I-20 that includes OPT info, copy of the OPT EAD Approval Notice and copy of the actual EAD Card (front and back).
Also - how much time have they given you for responding to the RFE?
I am thinking of early walk in for one simple reason. It seems that the FP Appointment is super serious and if you miss that appointment then that is considered as abandonment of 485 petition. Now, all kinds of shit many happen on the day of the appointment (snow, blizzard, traffic, illness, accident, whatever) and I would rather get it done ahead of time. I wonder whether the ASC people would be more amenable to early walk-in if one calls them before and asks them whether one can come by for an early walk-in. If they are super busy then I am sure they will decline but will otherwise be okay with it - makes no difference to them.
:) cool!
congratulations. 10 years is a long time, enjoy your trip to India.
I just tried to fish around with my lawyer, dropped in an email saying how this wait is so anxious etc, hoping he might enlighten me on some news or some tit bit he has, he just replied with one word: OK.
:D
Just confirming - when you travel on AP, you would necessarily have to go through Secondary Inspection - is that right? Just the Immigration Counter is not enough? Also I imagine one gets in the non-immigrant line and not the Citizen/Resident-Alien line at the airport - right?
Guys... Cannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn't believe.... I think i am greened... received following email and sms for self and spouse
for some of you who are interested: i am a consultant (EVC), no influenza vaccines, no flu shots, late registered birth certificates and I did NOT send any affidavits...
Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production
On February 13, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 .
Wow! 10 years is a lifetime. One can't put price on that. I hope you enjoy every single moment when you visit family back home. All the very best for future!
Congrats Familyguy. This confirms that time to GC is determined mostly by PD rather than when one files 485.
Thanks Tackle. I assume he did not go thru attroney
Essenel - I can understand the pain of waiting.
Congratulations.
Thanks Leo
Congragulations
Dude. Congratulations. All the best
Friends,
I just want to let you know that, one of my friend Received I485 approval today from TSC and His processing date is Dec 2007. This approval processing really frustrating , Don't know how they are approving . I checked the Numbers randomly and Many of them got approved before my Number and after my receipt Number.
Thanks everyone. It feels great to finally get the approval. It's a real tough process to get through (getting a job, survival during tough times etc) & they really make you earn it. I hope everyone who is waiting get's their GC asap.
Congrats, imechanix and familyguy!
Many congratulations, thanks for sharing your wife's timelines. Very helpful for all of us on RFE's.
You and your wife are true winners. When I started my career working in embedded systems was always a dream, never got the right break. Wishig your wife the best of health and hope your GC dreams come true soon.
Many congratulations to you and your family. Now you can visit your family in India with complete peace of mind if you did not undertake your trip yet.
Many Congratulations to you and every one in your family :). Thanks for all the details very encouraging.
