I'm guessing it should by COB today, if your attorney had sent it by overnight FedEx.

ahhhh...that's the most painful part. When people whom we trust can't feel our pain. We know CIS has millions of cases and can't have that personal touch or human element in the way they do business. But, our own attorneys who get paid by us ( directly/indirectly), sitting on the cases is unacceptable.
It took almost 22 days for my attorney to file my 485 case in October.
Hi folks, I'm joining the RFE club... got an RFE email today...I'm hoping it's something simple... a little nervous now. Once I know what it's about, I will update the thread.
I got an RFE-email for my wife's (I485) application moments ago. It is a request for additional evidence. I hope its straight forward...phew....additional wait time begins..:-w
Friends, any idea how long it takes to get the actual RFE details in hand once the status online is updated to "Request for Evidence"?
Refer to post # 1 there the details for some of us are updated.
Getting a RFE is a bitter sweet feeling, bitter because it could have been approval sweet atleast that the file was touched and worked upon.
This is so true, I simply fail to understand why it should take so long at times.

Thanks Teddy!

Agreed!
Friends just an update from my side, everything including the EVL and BC's is now with the attorney. I just hope that they take out some time and file, I haven't been asked for any fee. So basically the horse is at the pond but I cannot make it drink the water, aka file the response they will take their sweet time even though I hope it will be done today. Just like Leo and IEB2 mentioned the service is thoroughly unprofessional if proper documentation was sent in the first place the case would have been approved initially itself. This stage has been reached after numerous phone calls , emails etc, If I don’t push it would have taken much longer.
Teddy,
I totally agree with you. Sometimes they really push our buttons but lets be patient for a few more days. I keep telling myself, few more days of this bureaucracy and I am done. On the same note, do we have to respond to the RFE through our lawyer? Can't we do it ourselves? Whats the difference?
In your case since the RFE is for your wife my guess is that it will be birth certificate related. Yes you can respond on your own along with the response you have to send a g28 form with lawyers name removed indicating that you are representing yourself. In some cases its better to go via a lawyer however unprofessional they maybe. It’s entirely your call; it’s probably safer to go via a lawyer in most cases even though it may just involve extra fees because you just want to be done with it.
Thanks Teddy, I'll try to play it safe and go with the lawyer. Btw, I just got to know that due a family emergency, my lawyer is out of country and will be back only by first week of March. I hope i will get sufficient time to respond to the RFE and also that the visa numbers don't run out by then.
Can any of the flu shot RFE folks tell us what you did to respond to the RFE?
What proof of flu shot was required? Did you have to go back to the Civil Surgeon for him/her to certify it? Did the Civil Surgeon charge you again for it?
I intend to keep my stuff ready so that I can send out my response turant when (if) I get an RFE.
Friends just got a confirmation finally that the RGE response for me and my wife has been sent to USCIS.
Friends!
We are also joining the RFE bandwagon :)
Received RFE emails on Feb 16th but still do not have the actual letter in hand. Got to know yesterday from the lawyer that it is for flu shot marked as "age
inappropriate" for both of us.
Here goes my details:
NSC PD: 09/24/2007, 485 RD- 11/22/2007(Mailed last week of Nov), 485 ND- 11/28/2007, FP Completed- 01/05/2012(Same date as appointment), EAD/AP RD- 01/10/2012( Mailed Jan 1st week), RFE email- 02/16/2012, RFE Response- Yet to take, EAD/GC- ?
Good point. Thanks!
Friends - what the trend in approval after RFE?. I mean how long will this take. Every day its a pain on this
Isn't it immediate that after RFE approval (assuming visa numbers are available) you should get the CPO email? Maybe with a buffer of 2-3 days but once the RFE is satisfied, one should be through (cause they don't go back in the queue, they get a free pass). Gurus, please correct me if I am wrong. I hope I am NOT :)
People have received alerts on Saturday, who knows it could be today for you. I got my RFE alert 2 Saturdays back.
Thanks my friend, i just feel relieved being back in the line again after the RFE response.
Hope so if these people have sent by priority mail atleast then should be received by Monday.
It could be anywhere from 3 - 30 days. The good thing is as soon as RFE response is received your case moves back to its original position in the officers work queue. Now if they are really following procedures it should be quick. For my H1 extension I got approval in 3 days of RFE response received alert back in 2009 (regular processing).
