mysati,
I am in the same area as you are and how many days after you got the receipt notice did you get your first FP notice? I intend to travel and wanted to travel after my FP so that I do not have to reschedule.

Thats some wishful thinking on my part.. I was told that there is a 2 week gap between the time when you get the FP notice and the actual FP date. I haven't received the FP notice yet.. hence the "coming soon".. Assuming the information is correct, I should be going for my FP in about 14 days of receiving the notice..
I'm sorry if it created unnecessary confusion..
As per
http://www.immigration-information.c...ad.php?t=16019
Based on the information contained in Part D, as well as the announced demand data, it appears that the USCIS is not doing a very good job of processing files to completion. If this continues (and it likely will), then it is entirely possible that India and China EB2 could become current or near-current by May.
Ron say's, EB2 may be nearly current by May, any takes on this?
also he replied to one of questions on the forum as below
It will depend on the reported demand, but unless something changes, look for another one year advance in China/India EB2 .
below looks intresting, EB2 will become current...
Personally, and this is just my gut feeling (based on the available information), I expect to see the China/India EB2 cutoff date continue to move forward at a rate of about one year per month. It should become current or near-current no later than May. At that point, we will either have enough applications in the pipeline to use up the annual quota, or we won't. If we do, then the cutoff date will start to retrogress, ultimately settling in at around mid-2009. If we don't have enough applications in the pipeline, then we will see a fall down of numbers into Worldwide EB3 - where there are more than enough pending applications to use up the quota.
Ron has always been bullish on EB2 India - perhaps a way of attracting EB3 to EB2 porting. In fact, he offers free consultations for porting. Having said that, I do remember a newsletter from a few months ago where he predicts that Eb2 india dates will fly once the July 07 dates are cleared...
We have our first Nov. approval from trackitt!!
User stadala
Priority Date: 31 Jul 2007 Application Filed: 01 Nov 2011
I-485 Status: approved I-485 Approval/Denial Date: 09 Jan 2012
USCIS taking about 2 months only for procecssing? That is great news for people who have filed already, but given this translates into demand for the next demand data, probably does not bode well for the extent of movement in next months bulletin?
Druraj,
I got my first fp notice exactly a week after my receipt notice.
KD2008,
I believe I posted here some week ago.
My friend with PD: 9/28/2007, Current with November bulletin got his EAD couple of weeks ago.

Champu!
Thanks for correcting...I just over read ;-)
KD thanks for posting. Even though this is not a clean case it is significant. The primary for this case is a Jul 2007 filer and was approved in Nov, the dependent filed in Nov and approved now. Still from a standpoint it is very significant that they are now looking at EB2 I/C cases of any kind filed in Nov. I see on Trackitt that approval levels are higher in Jan.
Can't wait to go home and check my mailbox.. I remember feeling the same urge, exactly 11 years ago when I checked my mails to find out the status of my applications to Graduate Schools. Hopefully aaj FP notice aa jaaye..
I have question about order in which I-485 are processed-
If a person with PD 10 Jan 2009 files on 25 Feb 2012 and person with 20th Dec 2009 files on 5th Feb 2012...who gets GC first? is it FIFO?
I remember Veni answered a similar question just few days back but could not locate.
Processing of application is in order of received date.
Allocation of spillover visas is artificially ordered by priority date, due to retrogression, and then movement in small batches when some SO is available, the length of the batch depends on what DOS feels will be completely satisfied (they know this because of accurate demand data and inventory and estimated SO that they want to release in that month), this technique is employed by DOS. For categories which are current, you don't have to worry about all this, but for categories which feed on spillover, this need arises.
This is my opinion on this. Let's wait for others replies.
Looks like a India EB2 November filer has got his/her green card! NSC, PD July 31 2007.....
Hi,
Received my FP notices today. But they mention only 485 and nothing about 765. Do we get another FP notice for 765 (EAD)?? I have heard from friends that they have received one single notice for both 485 and 765. Any thoughts?
SC:NSC|RD:12/2|ND: 12/5|FP ND:1/6|FP RD:1/10
Soggadu very soon i will be going the cruiser route too...dont seem to have what it takes to tame the cbr.....:p But given your profile i was expecting you to ride a 'crotch rocket' :o
I guess you can add an attachment...i see a file upload manager in this forum but not sure if there are restrictions on file size.
Would love to see some uploads:cool:
I am seeing mixed bag on trackitt for this. Basically 485 really needs FP, and FP on EAD/AP is optional for the service centers. I wouldn't worry about it, just go get it done. And once they have your FP, due to linking by A-number, they can use it anywhere they want for you.
Thanks Champ(nice name!). Yes, missing the 2007 boat to promised land, added a bag of salt to the raw wound of GC wait, especially after noticing that Atlanta Labor office was auditing a ton of PERMs at the time for no apparent reason, while the Chicago office was merrily approving PERMs in a few days each; some cases got approved in one day at Chicago during this interesting time! Went through a range of emotions during this wait. Initially there was Suspension of belief about missing the 2007 boat, then bewilderment that the boat is not coming back anytime soon, followed by resignation to fate that things will work themselves out and better to focus on job at hand, and then finally settled into a state of indifference about the whole immigration process. So the whole approval thing maybe elated me for perhaps 5 minutes and then I was back doing what I was always doing before my GC got approved anyways! :)
Thanks Leo! Anything to help buddy :)
Good luck to both of you! Your GC will get approved sooner or later. Enjoy!!
Cheers.
Hey Zen/Sun/Kanmani,
All this lawyer fee is waste. There is nothing for lawyer to do. Paralegal and Company lawyer sit at same workplace as mine and I worked with them. I filled all forms (10 in all, 3 for me and my wife and 2 each for kids). They reviewed it and attached EVL plus supporting docs.. that is it. Nothing gr8 immigration lawyer stuff for 485 filing.
In our company, lawyer is not immigration specific as he is chief company counsel. He and a paralegal does everything end to end.
After all this, I could have done it all with just an EVL from my company. But it does not cost me to use my company lawyer and so just followed the way other co-workers did. So if your company is not forcing you for a specific attorney then pick the cheapest one.
My company handled my cost and for dependents they paid but will deduct from salary.
I was just trying to say that you dont need a big lawyer to file 485 .. hope it helps
Sorry for the delay in response, was traveling for most of the day. My PD is Sept'07 and i filed my 485 application at TSC on 5th December. Got an email from USCIS on 3rd Jan that my EAD is approved and on 7th Jan i received cards. Curiously, my fingerprinting happened on 6th Jan.
Can you please guide me?
My PD is 7th Feb 2007. 140 is approved and I-485 was filed on 22nd Dec 2011. FP is scheduled for 2nd Feb.
On Dec 30th Dec 2011, my company was acquired by another company.
Do I need to amend I-140?
Hi Guys- couple of questions:
1) the fee for i1485 form and for fingerprinting should be added and inlcuded as one amount in the check? or separate ? $985 and $80 separately or one check for $1070?
2) also- if i am the only person filing for aos, do i need to file the form for affidavit of support form i-134?
thanks,
Affidavit of support/paystubs are needed specifically for spouse or dependent, But assistant to lawyers at lawyers office ask for all forms. But if you single you do not need I134.
And make sure you go through all documents very well and dont just depend on lawyers office.
Hi,
I got my i-765, i-131 receipts and my husband got all his three receipts.. I was wondering if this is going be an issue..or just that i might need to wait for few more days to get i-485 receipt.
