FP notice:-09-Dec-2011
We completed our early walk-in fingerprinting today in ASC Elizabeth, NJ.
Experience was not as favorable as soggadu anna's. Entered the office around lunch time and was directed to the supervisor for approval as our actual appt date was 2 weeks later i.e during Christmas week (i am out of town for that week on vacation). The supervisor lady flatly refused to allow us for early walk-in. I dont know whether she was having a bad day or whether I was. It could be that lot of ppl had gone for early walk-ins recently and they are trying to stop that. All this in spite of the fact that the office was practically empty. Why this Kolaveri di?
Anyways, it took a lot of convincing on our part and she finally agreed to let us in if we were ready to wait until 3pm. We decided to stick it out instead of traveling all the way back on another day. Finally at 3pm we were given the forms to fill and prints were taken.
In summary (atleast for NJ), you can try ur luck for early walk-in but be prepared for return trip in case they refuse. Good luck!
One more item checked off, on to the next....
Still waiting

observations.... Looks like all Nov TSC filers will have their ead/ap as Christmas holiday gifts and GC would be given as Ugadi ( mar - Apr ) gift.... What do you guys say???? Based on trackitt every 10 min refresh ;-);-);-);-)
Friends,
I have a family emergency and not able to decide whether or not to travel to India. Seeking your inputs.
Filed my I-485 at TSC on 12/9/2011 - PD is 01/16/2008. I have not received the receipts yet, not sure how long it will take. I know after EAD/AP is approved it is safe to travel.
I dont have H1B visa stamp, but do have I-797 approval.
a) Can one travel when no receipts of I-485?
b) Can one travel after receiving just receipts, not EAD/AP?
c) Ofcouse H1B stamping has to be done without AP, but is it possible?
d) How long does it take for EAD/AP in my case??
Please help with information in this difficult time. Thanks
If you have-to-have-to travel then as soggadu said you will need H1 stamp and it shouldn't matter if you have receipts or not.
The main issue is if you are working with as consultant, you are under risk if you get a query and get stuck. An so...
1) You might miss fingerprinting (which you might be able to reschedule not sure how long)
2) If your are stuck for a long time and 485 gets approved, you won't be able to enter back since you won't have AP.
So in above case, if possible, avoid any travel.
Any NSC Folks of Dec, 2011 filers got FP notice yet?
Guys , I have filed 485 on the 13th Dec . Unlike many who filed on 1st . Am I already at a disadvantage although my PD is early Dec 07 eb2 I , people later than me will be able to get approval ahead of mine because of the delay in filing . Is it First in First Out , for visa # assignments here after .
If you ask me, I'd say "No". Beyond submitting your applications, I'd say that the remaining is purely luck. I know people who applied in October who still have not got their EADs. At the same time, I see a bunch of November filers who have received the EAD approvals. So, all we can do is be diligent on our part and just hope for the best.
