USCIS has surprised me few times before , i never saw the following coming, never.
1) I never expected my PD to become current in 2012 ,i could not file for EAD though , i changed job exactly a month before that.
2) They surprised again by moving dates (and pulling it back) in 2015 , i did my medicals and submitted all my documents, that one hurt real bad.I was so sure i got the EAD this time :).
3) Surprised again one morning in December 2018 , my dates were current for Jan bulletin (albeit in EB3) , mailed everyone in my company for options to downgrade.was able to get an EAD finally.
4) My dates are current in December VB ,I had all the research done to contact my congressman in Feb/March , i was so confident that USCIS wont move without a mail from them.wrong again, i got a card production email today.
When i connect the dots everything that happened , happened for good , every single milestone that i passed or missed opened another door.
This and other online forums have been of immense help , thanks to everyone.
PD : 03/10/2010 (Eb2)
Downgraded to EB3 01/2019
maverickwild,
Congrats and enjoy this new freedom.
Congratulations Maverickwild. Wishing you success in your future of freedom. From what I have seen with my friends, raising sr, contacting uscis etc makes no difference unless processing is delayed or stuck. Glad to see cases being processed and queue moving forward.
The wait ends . Status says “Card being Produced” .
PD : Dec 2009 , NSC
EAD : 2012
Biometrics : 2012
RFE responded : Jan 2021 with Supp-J and Medicals .
Interview : Did not have any interviews.
Been on EAD from 2012 . Did not renew HIB after 2012 .
Been on 3 jobs on EAD . Never an issue
Thanks everyone for all the help. Will try to answer any Qs that I can to help others .
My Advise - Don't lose hope, take calculated risks. EB category is the safest , USCIS will give you the benefit as we are the least risk category .
Congrats my man!!!
Thanks Q and Aceman. As the Queen Song goes -
Tonight I'm gonna have myself a real good time
I feel alive
And the world I'll turn it inside out, yeah
I'm floating around in ecstasy
So, (don't stop me now)
(Don't stop me)
'Cause I'm having a good time, having a good time
I sincerely hope that the dates move and immigration reform passes . No one deserves a 15 year . We do everything right and are treated the worst in the immigration categories .
Best of luck everyone. I will be there to answer any Qs I can .
Moveon,
Many Congratulations!
Thanks everyone for the wishes and I hope everyone gets greened . The discriminatory country quota must go first , so unfair to discriminated on the place of birth for a GC category that is supposed to on the basis of merit .
For the TSC folks , I have been saying that you need to call your congresswoman/congressman. I will encourage you to join their weekly townhall meetings to understand the issues they resolve. Last week one person called to thank my congress woman because helped him with mail delivery . He had the USPS not deliver mail daily to his home and that they were rude when he went to the post office. The congressman(her office I guess) called the local office post office and the higher ups who then I believe personally apologized to the person and his mail is delivered daily . There were other minor cases which she seems to be happy to have solved . One thanked her for getting her husbands complex visa issue resolved (no details were discussed) . All through the congressman kept saying that it was her duty and to call her office directly if was urgent and not wait for the email. Some members of congress are more helpful that others, but then you need to try.
TSC issue is serious and if you all call the offices it will make an impact. You deserve your GC , you have earned it . 12-15 year waits are ridiculous just because you were born in India while others get it in a year.
After 11.5 yrs of standing in the queue, Blue fairy finally completed the transition to a Green Fairy today after receiving the coveted "card/document production" email. Although life didn't stop waiting in queue for a GC, this is still a much awaited milestone for the fairy family.
My PD was Oct 2009 and country of chargeability is India. I will not bore you with my journey through the process, but will tell you that jobs, promotions, house, kids all were prioritized way more than the GC. The same things will continue to be priority as I wait to hit the next milestone in about 5 or so years.
Good luck to all.
Congratulations Blue_Fairy!!! What a relief after a long wait.
