Hello Spec,
Do you think there will be at least one month movement in eb2i before the end of this fiscal?
Thanks for the link. How does these numbers look compared to previous Quarterly Reports? Sorry I did not go back to those reports. Will do at my earliest opportunity.
Application for Adjustment of Status (Form I-485) Quarterly Report (Fiscal Year 2019, 1st Quarter, Oct. 1-Dec. 31, 2018)
Employment-based received at service center
Applications Received 27,893
Approved 33,181
Denied 1,543
Pending 154,616
What does this mean in terms of PD movement.
Based on the DOS visa usage report how may GC's were issued to eb2i this fiscal year?
Job hopping in US gets tougher for H-1B visa holders

I have a friend whose H1 extension was denied - same company, same address, same role, same client...he had to go through some hoops but finally got the approval.
On L1-A side, consultants and testers continue to come from TCS/Genpact/Infosys/Capgemini (some in my company) and file in EB1-C. Absolutely no issues there.
One need to ensure they use the best immigration person or attorneys to handle their case of H1B these days. Also make sure to ask questions about how their case is presented, though law firms discourage it. Many law firms are not keeping up with how to present the petition as per new USCIS expectation. Also they allow paralegals to work on the case due to their over sight or heavy work load. I was miss-guided by a paralegal and had worst consequences in sixth year of H1B. That is when things take bad turn for us. I learnt not to TRUST any one and have been asking lot of questions when petition is being prepared and submitted even though they assure every thing is taken care from their side. I have proved them wrong many times.
This is unfortunately true for many things such as immigration, tax filings, pharmacies, travel agents etc etc. Far too many mistakes are made by people who should know better just due to incompetence or uncaring attitude where they have nothing to lose due to an error, but the cost is huge for the person on the other side.
Hey guys,
After 10 years and 1 month, I finally got the message that the card is being produced. This after RFE at each step before I 485 and 6 RFEs after at I-485 stage ( all medical and job related), $13k spending in different fee (other then what company paid) and mistakes on USCIS end in 2014 ( sent the same RFE that I already responded and they accepted).
My biggest thanks to Big Brother Q and Spec. You guys may not know what this blog means to people like me. It gave me continuity in a process that is totally, otherwise, opaque. Thank you so very much.
I' wish everyone who gets green card a happy green card life and great carear ahead
Folks who are getting green card must be in 40s or late 30s. Should have sacreficed their social life.
Lost connection with extended family
Were is poor socioeconomic status as they couldn't afford decent home/cars,etc as they had single earning family member.
Couldn't meet old friends back home as they couldn't travel due to various fears.
Couldn't fulfill dream of European vacation or african safari with family due to fear of being held in immigration upon return.
There may be few who didn't attend immediate family members funeral or could not see them when they were terminally ill.
And many more...
Most of these are irreversible or even if can be done may not be as much fun when done at right time.
After 40 you don't have same energy level which you had in 20s or 30s.
Will share how it feels after getting GC.
May have diabetes or High BP by then.
Thanks much spec. I have sent you a personal message.
Thanks everyone and good luck.
Congratulations Nishant !!!
Congratulations Nishant..
Big Thanks to Q, Spec and all other active members of this forum who provide valuable information.
@swordfish380 That is so true and sad. The cost of being in immigration limbo is so high. One of the worst periods in my life was the 3 years from 2012-2015 where i restarted my EB-2 process in 2012 and was working with a consulting company . I became an expert in the dreaded E-V-C client letter issues. Mind you it was still not as bad as now where this model is pretty much under intense scrutiny. My life became so much simpler and stress free once i filed my I485 and got some great jobs using EAD.
I sometimes think - is the opportunity cost, stress and arrested career really worth the GC? I know there is significant inertia of being here and having a life here but not having a basic right to work while being highly educated, talented and hard-working. And the thousands of dollars sent to USCIS and thousands more to lawyers.
Sometimes it feels like there is a deliberate attempt to retain this system in place.
We may recoup or survive a 3 to 5 year loss in career growth but beyond that like the current scenario of 10 years leaves us no where for sure. The estimate of 2 to 3 years to get a EAD when we filed under EB2 between 2008 and 2011, has snowballed to 10 years and once you go past the initial 5 years and kids start building roots here, it because difficult to relocate and we just have to leave it to fate.
Green Card is of course quite liberating. But don't give Green Card the power to take away key moments of your life or career. If you feel like buying a house, moving to a new job, having kids ... go for it. Of course there is risk ... but lost time does not come back. Remember that too.. Good luck to you all friends.
I’ve been a passive member here for quite sometime now.
I agree that even though we are waiting for around 10+ years for a piece of plastic, we should not forget that life is a journey, a ride that only stops when you die. Spend time with your family, your kids. Buy that house that you want for your kids to grow up in. Take vacations and stay connected with family members. Otherwise you will end up with lot of regrets later in life.
Avoid that feeling of helplessness by staying connected to people and relationships that matter.
