When I was checking on the process with my congressman's office immigration in-charge, she said USCIS may take up to 30 days to respond to congressional queries. Just what I heard and not 100% sure.
Indeed it is such a paradoxical state to see a good movement with rather inefficient/unjust order of processing . I spoke with my attorney who is quite reputed and was told that the pace is expected to be slow indeed bcoz of the heavy workload with not quite enough resources .
My other fear is there could be 2007 cases that are not pre-adjudicated bcoz of whatever damn reason it may be and the 2008 cases that are pre-adjudicated could be a low hanging fruits situation for USCIS to quickly and randomly approve . Just my thought .
Thanks for sharing. I heard they usually get back to congressman /senator with in 15 days similar to Service requests on cases pending beyond the processing times typically are responded to in 2 weeks time . When I opened an SR last week, I was told by L2 officer that I should expect a response with in 10 days.
That's a ridiculous excuse. They should have considered that when they decided to move the dates in the last two months. Not for a second do I believe they'll use up all available visas by Sep 30. A lot of visas will be wasted and a lot of us are going to be left out again.
Hey guys, just wanted to report here that my spouse's 485 application got approved today, mine was approved last Thursday. I'm seeing more and more Primary/Derivative 485 applications getting separated during the adjudication process. Anyways, looks like finally our family is done with the GC stuff and can move on now!
Congratulations to those who will be current next month and good luck to the folks who are waiting for their turn for the 485 approval.
Congrats longwait100!
I received my approval email this morning.
Hi
Just a while age I got a text from USICS saying that there is an update to your case. When I checked online it said your address was changed blah blah blah. It say initial review as of now. Earlier it RFE response review. Did others get this and what does it signify. I will ask my attorney and will post if I get a answer from him. I am not even current as of yet.
Status change to Initial Review mean no pre-adjudication of my case?
September 1st and 2nd are not working days. Also due to the long week end there will be less approvals for the first week of September. The pace should get picked up from Second week of September. We have 2 weeks of time to get ready with the next step of process (creating SRs, congressional enquiry and INFOPASS etc...).
Hope USCIS will be able to process cases efficiently to clear out these back logged cases.
What will be the best time to start with SR and congressional enquiry. First week or Second week? Or Wait till Mid September before we do any of these?.
Matt, I think was trying to put together a database of folks still waiting. We had a list of PDs that we had put together a while ago on this thread. It was started when only the EB2I dates had moved to Nov 1, 2007, so it doesn't have any names before then. Also, many of these guys may have already got their GCs, but I thought i'd provide you with the list so you can search the posts of these folks or PM them to see what their status is.
Also, feel free to update that thread to include your names/PDs.

Thank you Pedro, I knew we had few users here, who are not active but was waiting for approval. I was indeed happy that in Sep VB, EB2I dates moved and folks like you are current. Looking forward to see a lot of approval posts through August and September.
Also taking this opportunity to share that my I-485 got approved today. Thank you everybody for sharing valuable thoughts, and making the long journey a little easier.
Cheers!!
Matt
I have always been a lurker on this site for past few years. I got my CPO -> CPO -> Decision -> Mailed Card emails in last 5/6 days. Waiting on my dependent (wife's) petition approval. Thanks for all the valuable information.
I have always been lurker on this website. I received CPO -> CPO -> Decision -> Card mailed messages in last few days. Waiting for my wife's petition to get approved. Thank you all for your valuable insight. Specially Q and Spec.
Congressional inquires have risen so much in the recent days, not many are getting response within even a week.
The approval pattern resembles a mini "lottery", now with the total IO's remaining the same and pace of approvals not changing dramatically, there could be potential 10% - 25% of the current applicants left over before the fiscal year closes ( I hope I am wrong)
From long time, I became a silent visitor going through Q's forum. I logged in more than a year later to share the good news that I got these card Production emails a couple of hours ago, for me and my wife.
I thank everyone for providing insights, specially Q, Spec, Vizcard, Indiani & Teddy.
Thank you all!!
I think it is a blessing/luck to all of us to be part of this forum. When compared to several other immigration forums, this forum is well maintained and depth of information here is huge. To get all that we need in one place is very difficult many times.
a) Q - Calculations with macro conditions in mind.
b) Spec - Calculations with historic and with all available/possible data.
c) Kanmani: Document Expert
d) Viz: Critical thinking and moderate view points
e) Others: Amazing posts with respect and helpful mentality.
Though I listed some qualities, I am not trying to box anybody in that definition. I can continue with my list of individual contributors, but I could miss many. But I am thankful to all of you.
I recommend everybody to post whatever they hear, know or assume. Between all the good news, we forgot the individual who posted about the CP interview yesterday( Thanks for the heads up). If I am not wrong, the website had the highest number of online users in a given time, because somebody shared what they heard. Keep up the good work.
I am sure to see many more approval postings soon. As usual I will try my best to answer as much as possible.
To conclude the best advantage of this website: Many times before I typed my answer, somebody else had typed an answer better than the one I am typing. Thank you all once again!!
Cheers!!
Matt
