बसो हमारी नगरीमे मोहे सुंदर मुख दिखला जा (Come here to show me your pretty face and stay with me)


हो कधी आ मिल सांवल यार वे (O my beloved! Please come to me
मेरे लुं लुं चीख पुकार वे (Listen! Can’t you hear the wailing of my soul?)


मेरी जिन्दडि होये उदास वे ( I am forlorn, I am torn)
मेरा सांवल आस न पास वे (My beloved is nowhere to be found)
मुझे मिलेना चार कहार वे (I have no way of going to him)
