I wanted to open a separate thread for people interested in discussion related to this matter.
I saw a rather detailed and informative post on trackitt about congressional inquiry experience,
It won't hurt but usefulness is still not well established, in the sense it could be futile too, I am in it though and as soon as I hear from the congressional office I will post.
My congresswoman's office put an inquiry on last Tuesday and they received following response, I am not sure what it meansQuote:

Here is what I heard based on my congresswoman's inquiry
Electronic service records indicate that this I-485 application is consolidated into the alien file with both underlying petitions. This constituent has an approved second preference employment based petition and an approved third preference employment based petition. There was a lecture from one of the USCIS officer in the near by Library, also did talk to her for any help she can provide. She said she will follow up and let me know.

email response of uscis to congressman's office, I have seen a few report this generic reply. I am not sure how long an officer takes to review or it is just one of the few hundreds of files he has which he can review before he retires ..
I've requested help from senator for my 485 case. Yet to receive any response. Will post after I hear back.
