Case Status Related Questions

I am very new to this forum. Very very informative indeed. thanks to moderators for keeping it to the point.
I have a question. My PD is 26Nov2008 and I was current in Jan'12 bulletin. I received fingerprinting notification for me, wife and son in Feb and we got that done in March.
After that there was a mass change in the online USCIS case status in early June that became to 'Acceptance - your fingerprint fee has been accepted.....". However, it did not change to acceptance for my son's case. After that I received another finger printing notice (this time only for my son) and we got that done again in Jul. I was hoping that the status changes to similar to ours but it did not till date. It still shows 'initial review'.
Could it be possible that our (my and wife's) cases are pre-adjudicated and waiting for visa numbers but our son's is not...Could it cause trouble in future when dates become current that we might receive GC but son may not?

welcome rka to the forum. The USCIS case status is not at all in real time. My own showed initial review until right when I got my GC. So don't overthink it. Everything will be alright.
