Guys- is there anyway we can get copy of PERM LC ? I suppose this would be useful in case if we invoke AC21 and then USCIS ask for EVL.. suggestions please..

Hi Sun,

I guess you can get that from your attorney or employer. I am not sure if you have no chance to do that now or for any reason did not want to do that. I had mine mailed over by my employer as soon as it was approved.

Some Employers are nice you see :)

As per my company policy I need to interact with immigration dept and I am sure they will not be very happy providing me copy of LC. Any other way ..anyone?

Sun, After submitting the original LC alongwith I-140 petition to USCIS , I haven't seen any need for copy of LC at all. (DOL certify and send back the ETA originally submitted by us and no separate approval letter is included though)

Copy of I-140 is good enough .

I sholuld have mentioned that I have only I140 approval copy and nothing else. I need to know the responsibilities (know the role and PERM case number). Came across some trackitt threads where people were able to get PERM and I140 copies using FOIA.

Sun, not an expert but if you had your h1b extended, there is a copy of the PERM/I-140 that usually goes with the application. Atleast for me that was the case.

randomax-

Thanks.

H1 Extension had only I140 approval notice attached.

Admin - please move this to appropriate thread.

As far I know, USCIS would send you all the documents approved by itself and nothing else. I am not sure.

Experts, Many of us would have gone thru this scenario or would be planning to do it .. please provide your thoughts..

- I have a copy of my perm and it mentions skills of a J2EE,weblogic, oracle etc.
- I am a DBA, was hired as a DBA and continuing in same role/responsibility with the GC sponsor for last 4 yrs.
- Probably the lawyer used advertisement and PWD for J2EE positions and filed my labor. I see that those ads and process was done 3-4 months before my joining. In my resume, I have some Java skills from 10 yrs ago .
- I am expecting a full time offer very soon from the client that I work for currently and I plan on taking it up. This is a fortune 50 company and would have a very simple offer mentioning a designation only without detailed skills or job responsibilities. Incase of an EVL rfe, I am hopeful that new employer would provide me a letter detailing my exact job responsibilities. But that EVL will be for DBA skills and not J2EE skills.

How do we handle such a scenario ? Is this a cause for concern or we should be OK as it an IT job with same or similar class. Please share your take

So, Q, if I am understanding it correctly. You mean to say that till the time our move is in an IT subset skill then we should be OK ? My apprehension is whether a J2EE developer perm position compared to a DBA new job will be same/similar occupation or not.
