Dear all,

Plz help me understanding on the Infopass process.

Currently we have recieved the EAD/AP approval notification and our biometric finger print is not yet done. (Scheduled for next week May 7th).

PD : Mar 23
FP appoinment date : May 07
EAD/AP :Approved.
Center :TSC.
485 Status : No update in the system
Employment based filing.

The problem is, my spouse Brith certificate was sent incorrectly in 485 application. The issue was..her BC was manually written with error in registration number and her birth details has not been entered into the system in Municipal office. After identifying this, we corrected the BC and also got the latest computer printed copy. Now I'm trying to replace this corrected BC.

We called customer care and they have advised us to create Infopass in Local service center and directly speak to Immigration officer on this issue ?

But the attorney is advising us to wait for any RFE. But my question is, if RFE is not sent, what are the other options to replace the document.

Will Infopass help in replacing the document? Can I talk to IO about the incorrect BC ? I'm not sure what will be the outcome of this Infopass.?

Follow your attorney's advice.

You said the problem is with the "error in registration number and her birth details has not been entered into the system in Municipal office". How do USCIS know if the registration number is wrong?

Respond only if there is an RFE. My 2 cents.

Thanks..I will wait for RFE.

"How do USCIS know if the registration number is wrong?" - To answer this..When we called USCIS customer care, they told us..they will check for the Authenticity of the certificate and the reg number does not matter for them.

So, I think they may verify through online or thru third party on the authenticity of certificate. Now if they do the background check and authenticity they will be seeing a the different reg number and date (current date) that was made after correction. Hence they may find the discrepancy on the date of registration and number.

(History : My spouse BC was corrected (father's name, her first name) through Court order. But unfortunately not feeded into the system but was maintained manually (with incorrect data). The municipal clerk person wrongly issued BC with incorrect Reg no based on manual record. Therefore we made the correction in the system. However the reg number & date (current) was changed on this new BC).
