Dear Friends,
Happy new Indian year to all of you! Happy Ugadi & Gudhi Padwa!
On this occasion, it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you a new Self-Service at www.WhereismyGC.com (http://www.whereismygc.com/). This site offers a Self Service GC Forecasting Tool (SSFT) for all EB applicants. It will help them forecast when an average candidate might obtain Green Card based on factors such as Spillovers, Processing Times, 485 Decline Rates, and even customized Data Adjustments (e.g. to take care of Demand Destruction.).The tool will feature a default forecast and will also allow one to customize the forecast. We will improve on it on a continuous basis. The idea as always is to present as clear picture (literally this time since there are 4 graphs there!) as possible about Green Card backlog and its future to enable individuals to allow make better decisions about their life and career.
We have tried our best to maintain privacy of a candidate. The tool forecast doesn’t require your personal information other than PD, Country, and EB Category. So please rest assured of that.
I would like to disclose that this site is a commercial site. Today we are offering the tool FREE for initial few weeks. After the initial FREE period we will charge minimal amount to offer Daily, Weekly, Monthly subscription.
This tool and site doesn’t change www.qesehmk.org (http://www.qesehmk.org/) in any shape way or form. I will continue to participate here and when I update my forecast on SSFT, I will also update it here. This forum will continue to run as a FREE / PUBLIC forum for everybody just as we have in the past. There is absolutely NO binding for you to use the paid service of SSFT whatsoever.
I thank with all my heart to Teddy, Spec, Veni and Nishant for their help and constructive suggestions about this tool. I look forward to your feedback as well. Please feel free to make suggestions here or in the tool itself. My best wishes to you all in your GC journey and I hope this tool helps you one step further.
Best Regards,

Mesan,
At the bottom of the forecast, there is a link for creating your own forecast. IT will allow you to adjust spillovers.

Q, congrats on the new website! I think it is very generous of you to continue your main blog as an open forum. It looks like the tool will be very helpful to those people who ask specific questions about their priority dates, where as the blog will be helpful to those interested in a broader analysis. Wish you success in your new venture!

Q one suggestion, just a suggestion ....the own forecast link is not user freindly...i mean for a new user it is not clear what all he needs to select...i meant there are many tabs there....can you put some details how to play with that forecast :)

Q, the real benefit of this tool will be if it can calculate atleast the most generally acceptable spillover factors or a historic average or something like that to predict the GC date. that might attract people who are not as familiar with the calculations and those who don't frequent this forum as much.
just my 2 cents. good initiative though, keep up the good work.

mbasense, thank you too! The tool actually is a bit more sophisticated than that. It has future demand built into it and then it simulates how the visa allocation might happen month by month. So the spillover calculations are quite precise as long as the demand we project for future is reasonable accurate. I agree that the tool will be more useful for somebody who doesn't want to spend too much time on Forum understanding these things. For people on the forum who have a good understanding of all these things, if they need visualization and want to create scenarios, the tool will be useful. But if they just need a pointer tehn the forum already provides that.

Congrats Q! I used it; although have to admit that I am a bit more optimistic than the forecasted date for my case (Jul 2015).
Overall, it looks like a slick tool. My best wishes!!

Me too. For Jul 2008, the tool forecasts a date of Jul 2014, two years from now. Kinda looks out of place, something to consider may be.

Self coach, me too am more optimistic. I will be finetuning the tool as we go ahead. I was so much deep into getting the tool developed that i only entered directional info right now.
I am sure there are quite a few things we will be straightening out. Thanks a lot for note!

Congratulations Q! We are grateful to you for all the efforts you put in here for the community. Its little bit hard to digest I have to wait till July 2014 (almost 6 years) for me to get the GC, but I understand it is a conservative estimate.

Right now the estimate shown is very conservative. Over next two weeks I will adjust better.

Q,
Congratulations! on the launch of new tool for Immigration Community. I personally like the 'own forecast' part .
The tool is more sophisticated and user-friendly only to our Q-forum members, I must say it should be Beginner-friendly for others in the immi-community to understand and use this tool.

Q, I have a comment - I noticed that you have advertised it on this blog too. Users who visit this site might see the ad, but may not realize that it is being launched by you. You could consider adding something like - 'The creators of qesehmk.org/Q's Blog bring you WhereIsMyGC.com' or something like that...

gc_usa - I will move this to the junk folder and we can play mud there.
But to answer your question - I think the answer is simple - do not use it if you don't find it valuable.
This forum was and is and will be free. What we have created is a totally separate website that is commercial.
This makes perfect sense.
gc_usa, if you look at the website, you will understand the amount of time and effort it takes to create a tool like that. Since you already got the GC, it might not be useful to you. But for the other people who did not get the GC, it is a REALLY useful one. Again, it is not a magical tool that tells you the date when you get the gc, rather it gives you the option to play with different scenarios.

Dear Friends,
We are pleased to announce that today our beta version has moved into full production version.
With this the forecast is now expanded to EB3, includes NVC data especially for categories such as EB3 philipines and is much more improved for EB2. Thanks to all of you for your suggestions.
Very soon, you should expect to see a much simpler interface and monthly updates on latest situations around middle of every month.
You can continue to access the site for free for some more time. If you like the site, please spread the message to other EB folks. And as always - please continue to provide us
feedback so that we can provide more value to you.
Best Regards,
