Hello,

My lawyer has submitted my I-140 (premium) & I-485 (concurrent filing) through FedEx on January 5th 2012. It has been 12 days now & I haven't receive the receipt number from USCIS. I want to know if anybody has received receipt number from USCIS those who filed in 1st week of January 2012.

Second Question - Since I applied 140 through premium processing which USCIS has to get back within 15 days, when does the clock start ticking ? Is it from the date of arrival of I-140 package ? Is there a possibility of missing the package too ?!!

Cheers,
Shesh

I submitted my AOS package on January 12th 2012 through the express mail by USPS, was received the next day. I got my receipt numbers on January 17th.

There maybe several reasons as to why you havent gotten your receipt numbers:

1. It is still pending.
2. Ask your lawyer if the package was sent to the right lockbox address for regular USPS mail vs. express and courier mail (Note: Not underestimating your lawyer, but always asking never hurts!)
3. Do you have a tracking number to see if your package was received?
4. I think premium processing starts from the date of arrival.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Appreciate it. I called my attorney today & got to know that they sent my package on 11th of January ! However USCIS have credited 485 fees. Hence I can assume that they started looking into my case ? Also does this mean that they have started working on 485 as this fees was related to my wife's 485 filing fees. I have 140 concurrent processing along with 485, so I assume I should hear back about 140 decision soon.

I would assume that they have started processing your case once they have cashed in your check for your I-485. I think they will notify either you directly or your attorney on the next step in processing your case. I wish you all the luck on this journey.

Hi All,

When I checked my I140 status it is stating that, "On January 19, 2012, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our TEXAS SERVICE CENTER location. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. "
But long story short , My lawyer stated that he haven't received any RFE and never send any document for RFE. And also he is stating that this is errornus status.
Now to check the correct status is there is any number or site which I can contact to for teh above

Note - And also I verified the receipt number belongs to my I140 application

Mine was sent on Jan 11 and received by USCIS on Jan 12 through FedEx. But still haven't received my notice. To which lockbox facility was your application sent?

Nebraska, however I received my notice, but I still can't check the progress online as it says "Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283.” this looks like it takes time to update their database. Wonder if any one has the same problem ? However they en cashed my wife's 485 fees, i assume USCIS have started the process ?

Sometimes it takes a while for CIS to update the db. so there's not much to do than wait. it doesn't mean that your case will be processed any slower or faster than the rest. Just out of my experience.
