My priority date is Feb 2010 which is just 2 months away from the current deadline for filing ‘I-485 Adjustment of Status’ application. My PERM application (EB2-India) was initially filed for my employer's Charlotte location however I have moved to Boston since then and have changed my team as well. My job description too has changed with the location change but falls under the similar job category. From my limited understanding of these matters, I think there are two ways forward:
Path 1: Wait for the dates to become current and go ahead with the I-485 stage when the time comes with the ORIGINAL application. Since, PERM processing is for FUTURE employment, my current and old manager need to be on board but that's a very tricky conversation to have.
Path 2: File a new PERM for Boston. This will take upwards of 6 months and I’m afraid this path may make us miss the window of opportunity as no one knows what may happen to the priority date movements.
