Friends I think I need to move this POLL to its own thread and give you some more color to the question at hand.
I am interested in establishing how many H1Bs feel they are discriminated in promotions and in career in general when working for Indian managers based on their Indian caste (or language / state or even religion).
I firmly believe in equal opportunity and I believe most of our performance is nurture rather than nature. i.e. I believe more in inputs and opportunities as a good indicator of human progress than genes.
India sorely lacks equal opportunity. But we can't fix India sitting in US. However we can work to create a more just environment right here in US for H1Bs (and whoever else). So first I at least want to establish what % if any Indians feel that their Indian manager/management in US discriminates based on caste.
I am just trying to establish a baseline.
