hi
about a week ago i posted a thread on a matter that i cant find a ans to because no one has come back to me does that mean that no one knows what the ans is ?
it is buging me as to why there is no infomation when you goe past or get to july 2007
why do the records seem to stop ?
please forgive me if the ans is is an easy one but can any one clear this up for me.
as i said before i am new to these blogs and have not had a chance to read all the posts etc.

EB2-China and EB2-India, as well as all Countries in EB3 have Cut Off Dates in the Visa Bulletin prior to July 2007.

The last time people were able to file with dates that late was in July 2007, when DOS made the Cut Off Dates Current.

Since that time, the dates have never again reached July 2007 and nobody beyond that date has ever been able to file their I-485 application.

As a result, there are 10s of thousands of people beyond July 2007 waiting to file their I-485.

For EB1 and other Countries in EB2, the dates have been Current since October 2007, so there is essentially no backlog waiting to file in these Categories.

This same file is updated everything when the demand data is available for the month.

Same PD here... I have been ready with most of the I-485 documents since 2008. This wait for Dec 2011 bulletin is killing me. No matter how many websites/lawyers say that the dates are expected to move to 1 Mar 2008 for EB2, my mind refuses to accept it until the official bulletin is released.

my PD is Feb 27th 2008 :-).. Sitting right on the edge based on CO's predictions..

i know man...i am in the same boat...hopefully tomorrow is the day...

I am quite tensed up about the bulletin as well (Nov 09 PD) and have tried to avoid reading the forum...do not want you guys to be frustated tomorrow as well.

By all indications the CO wants to look at everything so he will delay the bulletin till the last moment which would be Thursday ( day before veterans day holiday on friday).

Also the CO is famous for curveballs....what if he decides to delay it on account of less working days and friday being an holiday ...pushes it to Monday 14th .It will surely get people to be like this http://www.cinezik.org/critiques/jaquettes/man_on_a_ledge.jpg

Just posting so that you guys can avoid an heartbreak tomorrow waiting for it again...hey if it comes great...if not it will save your fingers from an F5 refresh .

It sure seems like I'll drink tonight.. If the PD moves to Feb 1st.. I'll drink for 2 of my friends who'll get current (They buy the booze, whatever they choose.. lucky bozos :-)).. If it moves to March 1st, I'll host the party and get some nice Single Malt and Chicken Kabobs.. if it moves to June 1st, I'll have a gang of 15+ friends to celebrate with.. Maybe we'll get a keg..

And I really feel like having some beer and chicken wings..

depends on where you are in teh queue and how you define processing time. If you are closer to the front it won't make a difference. If you at the back then yes, you would get it sooner with lower demand.

I expect it to be in Q4 FY2012 or Q1 FY2013. If it's sooner then great but I like to temper my expectations

Many times VB has been released while I am on lunch here, around 12.30 to 12.50 PST. Not that we can derive any conclusions from this, like the coming soon googly, they can do anything at anytime.

Yeah I agree. In fact I believe one of the recent VB's had a similar schedule (early morning PST demand data and around noon PST VB). Let's hope we see that, my productivity is at an all-time low.

no no, I dont know how you got that idea. I dont even think Spec is from India.

This guy is my friend since 10 years, we studied together, were roommates for sometime, and work together also. He ported from EB3 to EB2 and is happily greened since a year now. Anyways, before ppl pounce on me for digressing... :)

Nothing to get hurt. you think of EB-3 India people waiting for 9 years to file their I-485 and there are lot of people who are still on H1B Visa,

It might come out tonight on the US Consulate in Mumbai website. Considering that Friday is a holiday for the US Consulates & DOS, they pretty much have to release it tomorrow. If they wait till Monday, that's just cruel :)

I remember atleast 1 bulletin in the last year that was released around 5-6PM. But in all probability, I should say its curtains closed for today.
Aahhh..then there is Mumbai consulate's link to check in the night if you are desperate, though I didn't see it getting updated overnight recently..:D

I remember when Mumbai did mistake once people called lot ( Because of free calls to India ) and clogged lines there and since then I never seen any single instance where they are first than CO.

They changed work flow for web content publisher there from publish to make sure its available on DOS site then publish.

It is important to stay hale and healthy for your doctor's appointment. If you are up all night anticipating it, you will look weak and ill and most probably in a bad mood too if the Mumbai consulate doesn't post it (which anyways is more likely).

So, my 2 cents...don't sleep on it and you will be fine tmoro when the VB comes out.:cool:

My PD is March 5th 2008. Hoping that the cutoff date goes beyond March 1st. Will be crushed if it is pinned at Mar 1, and will probably become the next Nishanth with "so near, yet so far situation".

You'll get it when ur PD is close. I haven't felt like this in 5 years, even when my first PERM was botched in 2005 and i had to refile in 2008....!! So believe me, u'll get that feeling sooner or later.

If u don't...just keep visiting this blog and read comments from Nishanth etc..and it will surely rub off on to u...!! :)

Congradulations to everyone who became current. I am current too (02-20-2008).

What is the prediction for actually getting the GC? Off late, most of the discussions are around when one can apply for 485. I would love to see some analysis around actual green card. Is the prediction still between Oct 07 to March 08 or based on the recent events, there may be some more additional months further.

Thanks a lot Q for starting this forum, this forum is a sane and sober voice in the GC world. I've been following your posts from the thread in other site and found yours and Teddy's posts and thought process very sensible and mature.

Thanks to Q, Teddy, Spec, Veni for doing fact based calculations and predictions and not letting personal biases cloud your calculations. Thanks to Soggadu for keeping all the forum members in a light mood. Thanks to everyone for respecting the values of this forum and not letting it become like the other immigration forums where reading few pages makes your BP to rise.

OMG finally finally relieved to be current. have been to many forums and performed many time specific searches on google for GC/immigration/CIR over the last couple of years until I finally found this wonderful forum. Kudos to all including members and admins for keeping this post healthy and providing a rare insight to how to this process works rathar than pure speculation on other forums for personnel gain. I hope the dates move further so that many can have an oppurtunity to be current.

I wonder as to why CO did not put any comments. Would it be fair to assume that he plans to move the dates forward in next 2 bulletins? My pd is July 2008 so wondering what to expect. Nishant, thanks for your analysis of dec bulletin.

Heartiest congratulations to everyone who became CURRENT today. Guys go have a blast, this day was much awaited and kept everyone on the edge of their seats. Finally !!! Thanks a lot to the Gurus for providing their valuable insight and reading CO's mind, sometime v v close :) I hope that the good news continues.

Yes, nowadays GC is like a cold chicken leg. If you throw it, it is a waste of many years of waiting. If you eat it, it's not tasty at all!

I think we have learned to be quite conservative to avoid disappointment - but remember that before the EB1 12K bombshell dropped, we expected spillover to be quite low last year as well. So all we know, we might get another 30K-35K spillover.

Demand density post 07/07 is the wild card. Based on PERM data, we are considering the period from 07/07 to end of 2008 as being quite dense - but there are a lot of moving factors there - including demand destruction due to lack of EAD, lower dependent ratios, duplication of PERM filings (in general, Indians who came to the country later have tended to have more two-income households with both spouses on independent H1Bs and independent I-140s; just my impression).

With 07/07 inventory gone, we are quite blind now. A few months will clear the air. Hopefully. In any case, I remain optimistic about future movement. We have crossed the densest year (2007), we have a potentially-equally-dense-but-probably-less-dense 2008 ahead of us followed by a very weak 2009. Unfortunately, 2010 is again quite dense - but that is not of immediate concern.

PS> Look at how the Chinese EB2 demand has fallen from a cliff around 2007. I won't be surprised of EB21 follows the same pattern with some delay.
PPS> If you have not watched yet, please see the recent South Park episodes about Mexican immigrants going back - its funny because its true (almost).

1)I have no idea about L1 coz I've been on H1 the whole time.
2)I would keep all the 797s ready just in case.
3)I don't think its an absolute must to have the spouse's name on the passport.
4)I believe you can get vaccinations done now but you definitely don't want to do the civil surgeon until you get current.

It's nice to see the tone of the thread changing from prediction/calculations to 'How to' mode. Just as seasons change...
We must have a hall-of-fame and also preserve some of these pages so that we can revisit the memory-lane, may be in 10 years? :)

It is amazing how fast we have moved from a calculation/prediction mode to a primarily "how-to" mode. Nothing wrong with that - I guess the audience profile is changing fast with the old guard (PWMBs, Late 2007 PDs) moving on and new batch (2008/2009 PDs) becoming more active. We are building a good amount of knowledge base here and considering that the search here is not very effective, we need something like a Hall-of-Fame thread to archive posts with valuable information - I am aware of the different threads for 485 etc - but they also tend to fill up with chatter.

I have no problem with people asking questions - I myself asked one recently and was helped immensely by the board. However, please also consider logging in and helping others as well. If you have two posts six months apart and both of them are questions - then that does not reflect well on your contribution to the forum. I am sure people will be more inclined to help if you have helped others in the forum in the past.
