hello
my daughter has a valid PIO card but with old passport number endorsed. the PIO system has now been discontinued and replaced entirely by OCI. however i was under the impression that we could still use the PIO card for our travel to india as it is now deemed as OCI
when i called a lady at the indian embassy at DC , she said one can no longer travel on PIO card to India. she says this rule is from November 2015 onwards. I am not able to find reference to this rule anywhere. the indian immigration site also mentions that PIO is valid
i am in a soup now - scared to travel incase the immigration does not allow my daughter in. and its too late to get her a visa (we are travelling on friday). has anyone travelled to india on pio card in the last month or two? any info on this is highly appreciated
thanks
Shai
