All,
we just came back from India on AP, and at the port of entry at Newark airport, we did not get physical I94 cards. Instead, after our secondary screening, the officer stamped our passport, and wrote AOS with a date which is a year from the entry date. Is this the norm now for AOS-EAD/AP people? no I94?

I realize this thread may not be the right spot for my question, please move it to where appropriate. thanks.

You can print your I-94 online at this link. (https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html;jsessionid=M1X5JmbN2LkmbqhxydsbMn7XqY LtLclSzgHQv2nwdVhP1R26lLnF!-1380683054)

Pretty much nobody gets an I94 at the PoE anymore. And yes, it is normal.

People getting through IAD (Washington Dulles) are still given paper I94 (for AP only). Rest airports like Newark, JFK and Chicago are all automated.
