Most gurus on here say and I agree that your career decisions should NOT depend on immigration. It should be informed by immigration just like u would consider ur family situation, etc when making a decision. I know it's sometimes easier said than done especially for folks close to being current.

I am completely agree with Viz. I was in similar situation back in 2012 due to significant forward movement (up to May 2010) followed by significant backward movements of dates. Advice was given to me from gurus was to move ahead with carrier advancements instead of waiting for PD (EB2I,July 2010) to get current. I am very satisfied with the change that I have made in my carrier and geographical location. believe me, It reduces the anxiety and will make this waiting journey tolerable. Many many thanks to all the Gurus and other people for their contribution to this valuation forum. Special thanks to Q for running this wonderful platform.
Gurus, what is the probability of my PD EB2july 2010 to get current in Q4-2015 or Q1 -2016? or best possible scenario? at least to file 485.
Thank you.

Moving jobs involves a risk of h1b transfer and then potential restart of GC process. My PD is June 2009. Due to layoffs I had to leave my original company in Dec 2010 and my next company PERM did not get approved until Sep 2012. I missed the boat in 2012 . At this point I have multiple job offers and I cannot take them because I am loathe to start GC again.
So career decisions are highly impacted by immigration. I am running 35% under paid because of not having ability to work for any employer. Only bringing out this point to highlight tremendous effect of immigration status on career. But I am sure you all are quite aware of that.
That's why I said it's particularly hard for ppl close to being current.
