Im not a republican but I dont see legal immigrants get anything as long as Obama / Democrats have senate control. They wont give an inch to legal immigrants without satisfying illegal immigrants first and the house will not entertain that. And democrats dont look like they can gain
control of house (per poll predictions)




I cannot agree more. H4 visa is a disgrace to put it mildly.

I have a fundamental objection to the creation of draconian entry bars in the work force to begin with. However, I can still understand why a country will do it to its immigrants. However, what's totally unfair is that this policy is not enforced uniformly at all! Why give work permits to L2 and why give green cards to nationals other than IC about 5 years sooner?

What truly makes sense is if an individual has a certified I140, his spouse and him should get an EAD/AP. No more BS about waiting to file I485...what a pathetic joke that is. We have filed more than 2 years ago and we are still waiting. Filing I485 doesn't mean a thing.

I really hope this rule change takes place, but unfortunately, my brain tells me it's not likely to happen. If anything, the US will make things a lot harder ala Canada on all immigrants in near future.
