Technically, it must. In certain scenarios, when a service center is overwhelmed with applications they get routed to another. Unfortunately that hasn't happened yet.

Initially (I read somewhere...) the lockbox sends it to service center based on I-140 SC but the service centers can tranfer internally if they want.

A# for OPT EAD is not transferrable to a 485 based case. In F1, you still have a non-immigration intent. You are good - don't worry about it.

I didn't get my card yet but received physical notices saying both ead and ap are approved.... Now after so many days, I get 2 e-mails saying my 765 is now under card production.... I am in the same boat. Received emails/SMS that both mine and my wife's EAD/AP have been approved/card production ordered on the 26th of Jan. My wife's card arrived by USPS priority mail on the 30th Jan. My wife's EAD status also changed to 'USPS delivered the mail'. My status still remains EAD approved, you will receive a notice. I just called the USCIS today and opened a service request. Hoping to receive my EAD/AP card soon.

Yes you guys are right. I checked my OPT EAD card and the A# on it was different from the A# on my I140.

Perhaps I should have. I generally leave these things to the lawyers. Sometimes they do the right things, and sometimes they leave incorrect A#s in the application forms and send your packet out by snail mail. One can only look upon them with gentle reproach in ones eyes and a resigned smile on ones lips.

So there is an inherent delay in case of such transfers. It is better that your 485 be serviced by same service center as your I-140.

This conversation had come up with my lawyer at time of filing, because he said the lockbox might give to NSC or CSC in my case. He said 99% will go to NSC, but in rare chance it goes to CSC, there will be delay, because CSC will also need to get 140 file transferred from NSC to itself.

Does this applies to CP-->AOS scenario where file needs to be transferred from NVC to USCIS. My file was sent to NVC in October(even thought we have not opted for CP), when we contacted NVC they said that they will hold the file(I-140) until USCIS requests for the file. My 485 application(PdJun2008) was filed on Jan4th 2012 with TSC--ND Jan6th2012--Received Receipt on Jan10th 2012, we have not received FP yet i was wondering does this file transfer is the reason for delay.

Normally how long does USCIS take to send request(File) to NVC has anyone experienced this before.

Tried to open SR for FP but got response from USCIS saying that one can open SR for FP only after 30 days from the day receipt was received by the applicant.

I did, right after 24 hours from my FP. Tell them that you've had a FP done at so and so ASC and you want to make sure everything is alright. The only information that they are allowed to provide and you definitely want to hear is that if the Finger prints are 'legible'.

btw, I was nervous too, calling fbi :) I think it's ok to be nervous.

This doesn't take much time BUT FBI name check will looooooooong time and there is no way to check this with FBI name check department since they are not allowing any type of communication. The only way is to check with USCIS if they can tell.

As far as i know there is no need to inform DMV of SSN status till the current license expires.
When time comes to renew the license you may update the information.

Next step you need to do is make sure she gets a job and then you can go shopping with the extra pay check :D

The same day I called the CSR, I received the FP and the EAD/AP approvals..Some of you might remember that strange coincidence..
But here is the response for the SR..

The status of this service request is:

Our records indicate that we sent you an appointment notice requesting you to go to your local Application Support Center for processing associated with this case, but you did not appear.On 1/20/2012, we rescheduled an appointment for you and mailed you a new appointment notice.

It may be dump idea, but how about Approval projections based on trackitt trend and service center. For simplicity we can limit it to end of 2007.
According to latest inventory C+I EB2 is 2K+8K = 10K, if we cut 60 % for TSC, It would be 6K. Based on current approval trend in trackitt for TSC, How long would it take to clear up 6K? The big assumptions is, there is constant flow of Visa numbers.

TSC is still dealing with 2006 numbers(312 China and about 1K for India).

CO has his salary number similar to EB number per year, so whenever his secretary places the demand data/ I-485 inventory he thinks it is his pay slip, so he says very low. After several months later he realises it is not what he thinks.

I have the same RD as you two. I got combo EAD/AP card, and also seperate notices for I131 AP approval for me and spouse.

I can track 4 out of the 6 receipts now....still can't track 485 for me and spouse...since we missed out on that batch job. I think the only time we'll be able to track is after a "Decision", until then...we are at the mercy of an L2 Customer service, twice every week for the next 3 months.

Education: MS from US university
Employment type: fulltime permanent
H1B Company: US multinational Fortune 500
No. of employess: 5000+ in North America

I have been with the same company for last 7 years, got two H1B extensions and never violated any immigration rules. I did have a soft LUD on my I-485 on Jan 26th."

But here is the response for the SR..

The huge gap between your NRD (12/19) and your FPND (2/1)would indicate that their claim might be true. Since you never received the FP Notice, is it possible they have the wrong address? Where did your EAD card ship to? You or the lawyer? Also, where did your initial notices go? To you or to your lawyer?

It might be a case of simple loss in the mail. I read somewhere that while mail theft/loss is a very low % (<< 1%), but given the sheer volumes that the USPS deals with it's still several 100,000s per year. In any case, to eliminate inadvertent trashing/shredding of important emails, I'd thought about confiscated the mail box keys from my wife and parents (who live with me), and monitoring it by myself. Seemed a little extreme, so I dropped the idea.

EAD/AP cards and the approval notices reached me..
FP notice was sent to my lawyer and me..My attorney alerted on the FP..So I checked my mail..there it was..
So it seems like my attorney and me lost the first FP notice..Strange coincidence indeed...:)

Wait till you receive the actual RFE and know what its about. Many times they are just for submitting something you have already submitted or asking to submit a legible copy etc. If it is a minor thing then you don't need to alter your travel plans. Keep us updated.

Yes. My attorney will let me know as soon as he gets it. But, I am supposed to get back to work by 14th and the question is whether Immigration Officials will allow me to return with a valid EAD / AP having I485 in RFE status.

Just to put some perspective to the discussion for EB2 - I there are 23 NSC approvals v/s 9 TSC approvals in Feb. The overall volume is quite impressive it maybe higher because some people have just reported on the thread but not updated tracker.The TSC breakup is 4 Nov filers who all have RD of 01 NOV, 2 Oct Filers, 1 Sep and 2 from Jul 2011. TSC is still in the backlog mode it might take 2 months for TSC to come to the point where NSC is at the moment.

Guys thanks for your feedback. This seems to be common occurrence then. Many other people also reported getting these after a month maybe they were recovering some failed transactions. Now since these updates are linked to the EAD receipt we probably cannot say that they are working on the 485 files, normally for people for whom the case status does not work a new event actually pushes the previous one or they see the latest one. Let’s keep our hopes alive everyone's day will come soon.

Taking Jan 2012 Inventory as baseline, Here is what TSC has till 2007.
assuming all 1600 Pre-2006 and 60% 2007 the number comes to 1600+4560 = 6160. Since it is playing in July 2007 area, we can assume 50 % of it is done, so another 3K to go. I don't know how the spill over works, But TSC should be able to kick out this 3K in April ( as second quarter spill at that time). That is the longest it should take.

Teddy posted about this very recently. If you go to his profile, you can search for his posts under the statistics tab. Basically, it seems like they usually go by RD first and then PD. They seem to make exceptions for highly qualified cases.

I only got I 765 approval notice so called USCIS since I am not able to track case online they always transfer to Level 2 officer , I was told that my I 131 is also approved. She told me that it is not always combo card but in my case it was and card is valid for 1 year and she was nice , she gave me usps tracking no for EAD/AP card. It reached my town today and will be delivered tomorrow. I asked for I 485 status and she said nothing happens after my finger print , she told me that my bio metrics was uploaded on same day it was taken. When I asked about back ground check , she can't track that. She was not sure if it was uploaded same day means it was done by FBI too or just uscis got from ASC center.

She can't look into details but no one is looking at file and it is pending , no activity in system. Just for information to who can't talk to Level 2 officer because they can track online.

Teddy posted about this very recently. If you go to his profile, you can search for his posts under the statistics tab. Basically, it seems like they usually go by RD first and then PD. They seem to make exceptions for highly qualified cases.

wov I found a batch. 485 followed by ead and ap. 3 485 approved, and the 4th one in this batch showed received date of December 1.

seems like they are getting into Dec 1 also.

All the 485 say approved on February 8th.

It is better to avoid this. With recent attacks on Govt servers, it may not be a wise thing to do. Also the site clearly asks you to "Enter your receipt number". So please do not look for other case numbers. Knowing the number of approvals/ denials/ RFEs may give us an idea as to when to expect a response on our petition, but it is not going to change anything. Things will happen when they are supposed to happen. :) Just my $0.02

What does My USCIS Case Number Mean?

USCIS assigns a 13-character case number (receipt number) to each application, for example: SRC 06 012 54321. A case number is structured like this: AAA-XX-YYY-Z-MMMM:

I believe most of Dec filers will be from Nov 1st 2007 to Mar 15th 2008. So there wont be any Eb3 pre-adjudicated cases for these dates.

Sogaddu bhai just now got the USPS Pick up SMS for my wife's EAD, earlier one was for me, I once again thought for a moment that something on the 485. Lets pray for the 485 receipts just like Adnan Sami said "Thodi si to lift karaade". 485 receipt saying to EAD one aise waiso ko diya hai thodi si to mujhe bhi lift karade. 7. EAD Issuance. What is TSC’s policy on EAD issuance when there is a background/security check on the underlying petition or application? Please confirm that corollary applications, such as I-765s and I-131s, are not held for background/security checks to clear.
When an EAD is filed concurrently with an I-485, we attempt to complete the normal security checks prior to adjudicating the EAD and advance parole. If the name check is still pending after 60 to 75 days, we will pull the file and adjudicate the EAD and advance parole even though the background check is not yet complete. However, if there is a problem with a background check that indicates a more serious security concern, the adjudication is placed on hold until that security concern can be resolved.

Question is : Is it okay if my husband goes on a different day than mine in a different ASC? Or will this cause issues?

I got flu shot (and recently 485 approved). Civil Surgeon did say that it is required. I got the medicals done in October last year.

Soggadu is 100% correct. Looking at Champu's signature he got his EAD/AP combo card 4 days before his fingerprint appointment date.

Soggadu is 100% correct. Looking at Champu's signature he got his EAD/AP combo card 4 days before his fingerprint appointment date.
what service center is yours?

it takes 2-4 weeks to get the FP Notice once you send the application, i am sure you will get it soon.

I m sure the positive vide of this forum is rubbing on to everyone else. Until last july when i joined i used to call the GC process a black hole...from then on with the insight and booster rockets applied to the whole process its much less stressful.

Soggadu and Gchopeful123 and Friends- How did you control your feelings? It’s very hard for me not to think about this GC. I keep checking blogs and check email and sms very frequently. Seriously i feel very hard in my heart and head thinking about approval.
Nothing is cooking for me..not sure why???. i know i did lot of effort to get my PD...how should i keep coolllllllll. I think what went wrong why they are not picking my case. your suggestion now????

Lot of these Dec, 2011 approvals with After OCT, 2007 PDs doesn't sound right to me. I have a strong feeling that some idiot creating dummy IDs and posting these approvals.

Someone posted that they got an RFE for flu shot. I don't even remember that the civil surgeon I went to even asked me about a flu shot. I would have thought he knew what he was doing.

How many of other fellow forum members got flu shots. More importantly some of the members who got recent 485 approvals did they get a flu shot? just curious.

Flu shot is absolutely important. Because I get free flu shots at work, I had to present a letter from HR to the civil surgeon that stated I had received the flu shot. Because my spouse had not taken hers at work, she had to get it at the Civil surgeon's office.

SriniPK and byte64 are trackitt members since > 2 years.. They seem to be genuine cases and some exceptionally lucky dudes..

Nextgen case says FP completed on Feb 1st and GC received on Feb 8th.. Which is extremely fishy..

Mkrc08 and vkagarwal1979 created profile about 2 days ago.. It seems unlikely that someone would create a profile "just to share the news and thank people for their support".. I'm not sure but doesn't jive with me..

That's great. Wish I had known this at the time of taking my medical exams. Given that my civil surgeon marked "not age appropriate" against Influenza vaccine and one of my colleague & his wife got RFEs (do not know reason yet. Looks like it takes more than a week to get the actual RFE notice), I'm almost certain that we'll be getting RFEs on our applications as well. Lets see how it goes.
