I am feb filer - PD 10-Apr-2009. Nothing changed ; still giving 'your case not found'.

What is your ND, RD and Service Center?
You should receive your FP notice soon depending upon your ND and RD if you are a TSC filer. Kanmani received hers a few days ago ..and I received mine yesterday.

There are many TSC Feb filers, including me, who cannot check their status online.

No Umesh . Actually we missed a receipt for ever. Our attorney instructed us to raise this issue during our finger print session.

I checked 6 receipts(3 for me and 3 for my wife), all of them are showing the same text. I reached out to my attorney to check if they know about some other case like this. If not I will call USCIS.

Nope, no difference. SSN made difference only for getting stimulus money 3 years back for something Obama had given out. Otherwise, no harm in applying with ITIN. There is no stimulus money to be gained this year.

Umesh, this happenned to me, I have never received the notices( My attorney did) and my case status also looked similar but within a day the status changed to "card/document" production and I received my FP notice the very next day. Although, I did put bigger name labels on my mailbox after I saw the case status.

I know 5 years is not a big deal compared to many others that have gone through even longer ordeals. I hope to see many more approvals in the coming days and hope everyone finds their way to green security.

It depends on the ASC if it allows walk-in appointments or not. Particularly, I haven't seen anyone gain anything by going early for FP. But if you have a valid reason to go early, you can try.

Teddy had this rule of thumb of getting GC email one month after Fingerprinting for NSC. Is it still valid? The two cases approved today got it in 15 days of FP. I'll accept one month also without any complaints :-))

Not sure of your work to home travel etc. but ASC opens at 8. If you go early it would not take more than 30 mins to finish the whole thing. If you don't want to waste a time/day off.

Wanted to provide an update to my post earlier regarding the status
On March 7, 2012, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent.

My attorney called and looks the FP notice sent to them are not received. I am surprised because the address in the forms we submitted is correct. Looks like they had few cases like this earlier. So it is not an issue with the website.

Not only emails but I also got three welcome notices. I told my wife uscis is stii excited by giving us gc than us receiving one. My excitement was for week and got third round of mail after 2 weeks.

You should also look at Secondary Evidence like school records. BC = Primary Evidence, School/etc = Secondary, Affidavit = Tertiary. They prefer that you go in order.

Got RFE detailed notice today.... (same RFE for Spouse & Myself)

Also, make sure to waive the signature confirmation if mailing by USPS Express Mail. I forgot to do that in my case. USPS left a note to pick up my mail and the following day a person from USCIS picked it up from the post office. I called the local USPS office in Mesquite, TX and they told me to not worry and this is normal for them. USCIS does pick up signature confirmation mails from post office the following day. But to avoid any confusion or delays, better to waive signature confirmation.

L1 just read whatever was there in online and said i have to call them back in 3 weeks to open the SR if nothing happens ...

Here is my latest status. I filed as dependent using my Primary Spouse receipt. And unfortunately mine went to TSC and spouse was sent to NSC. Anyways, today I received USCIS alert that my case has been transferred to another Service Center, which I gather is NSC where my primary got 485 approved already.

Since I'm a December Filer EB2-I , I have already been in line for over 3 + months . Since it is transferred to NSC now, does it mean the clock on my case starts now and runs its full 4 month processing time . Any idea how this will work. I was really hoping to get approval this month and be able to travel to India end of next month . My attorney says it is common for them to transfer cases between service centers when they have too much work load.

congrats...i have the same RD/ND as yours. but my PD is Dec 31,07. We filed 140 amendment along with 485, which might cause a delay in CPO..got ead/ap though/.

My lawyers are telling me that 140 amendment need to be approved before USCIS can approve 485. Unfortunate part is that USCIS treats 140 amendment as a fresh 140 application in case of Successor of Interest applications. Please share if you gather any other information.

It could go either way. 50-50 chance. You could see updates in week's time and if not...then as usual 3-4 months.

About online status check for Feb filers: Based on my random queries, the difference between my receipt number and the receipt number for which record is available has gone down from yesterday's 4K to 800. It seems records are there but available only if EAD/AP has been approved or some action has been taken after FP is done. My FP was completed yesterday, so I hope I will be able to check my record next week.

We were also not able to track our receipt online. But once EAD/AP was approved, we were able to track it.

Mine as a dependent went to TSC : My status is still Initial Review ; EAD : Approved in Feb ; 485 Approval : Hopefully Soon .

Does any one know if a dependant files 485 based on receipt of primary , will USCIS receive some trigger to pick the file of depenedant once the primary gets approved for 485.

God has been kind, though i came to the US first in 2002(first because in between i was not here for a few months) and filed in 2008 the trouble i went thru in between pales in comparison with may of the folks on the forum. Yes its was like the end of the world when my PERM was denied and then in audit for 2 years(just not knowing anything was agonizing). There were many uncertainities over last 2-3 years but again, life and god has been kind.

I honestly think my processing got a boost simply by logging on to this forum.

I had originally thought i will send a note to the tune of Aayo re.....aayo re from Swades but it hasnt sunk in and will wait on the celebrations for many others on the forum to get greened.

My only major contribution to the forum has been the doc on post #1 of this thread which has been read by over 100 people( and no, it was not me clicking it again and again) which makes me feel good.

Thanks! We need your avatar back though. We need to get Teddy greened this week. Absolutely, I want Teddy to get GC this week. I must admit mine was a very complicated case, not just because of the amount of papers that I have thrown at CIS over the past 14 years and the number of applications filed with them. But also because I switched companies and been through acquisitions 3 times. It's a library of applications for a individual reviewer to look at. In that respect, TeddyK's is a very easy application. it just need to get to the reviewers hand to be approved.

You are right , most of us who got their Green Cards have got it after a lot of struggle, rip offs by employers , family separation , lot of agony and pain.

I just got back from mine a couple of hrs back. There's street parking all over the place. I parked around the corner from the building. A quarter gets you 20 mins. It took my wife and I a total of about 45 mins.

Filled a form with few details and submitted. ASC was almost empty. Apt time was 3.00 , just 10 min for each person, ten fingers FP, Photo and signature.
No ear rings allowed.
Photo was taken using canon SLR .

Many people on this forum have, including me. In my case, my wife and I had different ASCs. I went with my wife to her ASC and they permitted me to get mine done. Others have done it elsewhere because they were traveling (consultants that did it at the client location ASC, or people on vacation). However, just as you got turned away from an early walk-in, you can be turned away from the other ASC too. I would recommend that you try to do your FP at the other ASC location and if it fails, ask your lawyer to send in a notice to change your address (you'd need to do that in any case, just do it before the FP date if you can't do a walk-in to the other ASC).

My recommendation was that you walk in to the other ASC prior to your appointment, not on the appointment date. Since it is a different ASC, your scheduled date and time mean nothing to them. By going in earlier, if they do turn you back, you have enough time to send a notice requesting them to reschedule the appointment. The instructions for rescheduling are on the FP notice. Btw, rescheduling will only change the date, not the location. I think the change of address is what will trigger an ASC change.

By going in earlier, if they do turn you back, you have enough time to send a notice requesting them to reschedule the appointment. The instructions for rescheduling are on the FP notice. Btw, rescheduling will only change the date, not the location. I think the change of address is what will trigger an ASC change.

I am much confused after reading adjudicator's Q&A section in a forum , Adjudicators are happy to approve applications from a big family, because when primary is approved the dependents approval follow them and adjudicators get enough points in lesser time while its hard for them to approve 3 primary aplications in a shorter time. But this doesn't happen always, sometimes family members' files are handled by two diff officers .

After reading this , I thought how would they know my PD if our cases are handled by two diff officers, hence I raised the question. I had no thought about the inventory that time , just tried to link some thing from nothing.

Getting GC ahead of you is unfair in my point of view. These words are from my heart. For whatever reason, this kind of random approvals should be straightened out.

Iam absolutely fine with EAD/AP, as circumstances made me to avoid stamping for the last 5 years, . I am employed in Fed Govt (Indian) and its impossible to obtain a NOC one more time. I haven't attended my only sister's wedding , my bad. When my mom was sick last year, we were mentally prepared to leave the country forever. I know we have our own stories back home binded with even more big reasons to stay back . I wish all 2010 & 2011 PDers get current , apply I-485 to receive EAD/APatleast, H.R.3012 passes to easeout Eb3 ers .

Coming to the low hanging fruit concept, my husband's case is absolutely a high hanging fruit unreachable even to smart monkeys. He is a full time employee , has some issues with internal transfers among sister concerns.

I got the context and do agree with you for most part. However, the educational and other qualifications notwithstanding, IMO, the PD should be followed with some consistency. I personally think that it is unfair for a person from 2009 to get a GC if there is a person from 2007 still waiting without unreasonable complications or major issues in the application.

I know there are people with double MS, PHDs, Scientists, Physicians coming under EB2 and if it is a straightforward case which doesn't give a chance to shoot an RFE, I welcome lhf, atleast if they follow some pattern in priority dates , not jumping a year ahead.

FP done today. On the questionnaire to be filled at the time of FP, there was no option "black" for the color of eyes .. they put that as "brown".. lol..
Very professional experience though. Got there 15 mins early and got done in 45 mins (out of which total wait time at several steps was 25 mins).

Online status for spouse EAD was "Approved" and now it is changed to "CPO". But no updates on AP. Has anyone received separate cards for EAD and AP?

Yeah! I didn't find "Black eyes" and circled "hazel" but she changed it to "Brown" :-)

BTW, this is interesting that some of you are able to see the status of you EAD/AP the same day after FP but I am still not able to see my case status online although I completed my FP on 8th Mar.



FP done today. On the questionnaire to be filled at the time of FP, there was no option "black" for the color of eyes .. they put that as "brown".. lol..
Very professional experience though. Got there 15 mins early and got done in 45 mins (out of which total wait time at several steps was 25 mins).

Online status for spouse EAD was "Approved" and now it is changed to "CPO". But no updates on AP. Has anyone received separate cards for EAD and AP?

How long did it take for your receipts numbers to appear on the USCIS automated status and to get EAD approved after your FP? Today I got my FP done, so trying to get a rough estimate.

Not entirely true, that. I called USCIS today as my case was not found on Case Status link. They too could not find, so they 'escalated' it to next level. There, they were able to find it (without asking for SRC number, just asked for first name, last name, birthdate and address, but I suspect that my SRC number was passed on when it was escalated).

The USCIS cust rep said "no one can check the status online for some reason" and then also stated that my application shows as "Pending" and I have to wait for it to take its time.

Sorry if my reply was confusing. EAD/AP status got changed last week and had nothing to do with FP.

I just received my CPO email almost 3 (very very long) weeks after and RFE response was received for a minor Flu shot, at NSC no less.

Funny thing is I actually called this afternoon, received same recorded message saying that it was still within the 60 days etc, and 15 mins after I hung up had my CPO email.

From the day of filing I don't remember a single day I missed to read the forum, good luck to every one waiting for their GC's.

I am glad I am home today and was able shout out my happiness....went to my wife's office and conveyed the message by gifting her green flowers. She just won the weight watchers in their office and my news just made her uncontrollable. Very relieved and now we can just focus on our next month trip to India after 4.5years.

Friends, I have a quick question. My wife used to work till Oct on H1b and she took a maternity break from Oct'11 till now. She moved to H4 based on my H1 petition in Oct'11. She found a job in Jan and applied for H1B(based on her old petition). She received a RFE. RFE is to prove client relationship and a client letter would be the best option.
Her client is hesitant to give a client letter but they have a SoW. Her employer is planning to respond to RFE with the SoW. Mean while, we filed for our 485 and should received our EAD in the next few weeks hopefully.

Question is - If my wife's H1 is denied, will it impact our 485. I dont think so, since she has a valid H4 petition she should be fine. I want to check with experts on this. Please provide your suggestions

H1 denial will not impact her 485, if she is on a valid H4.

I'm one of the Feb filer, received the receipt notice on Feb17,2012, but no FP yet, called up customer care, they said to call them back if you haven't received after 30 days of receiving receipt notice. Just checking is there any one having similar experience? Didn't hear about this 30days time frame after receiving the receipt notice.

yes, that's standard procedure. 30 days after receving receipt notices in hand, if you don't have FP notice, they can open an SR if you request so.

I am also sailing the same boat , not able to see my case status online. Do you recommend calling USCIS ? Will it be L2 officer who would answer the call.

Just so you know, humans don't have black eyes. Its a very dark brown but not black.

Had the black/brown eye color experience at DMV branch. I wrote as Black and the lady there changed that to brown saying normally humans have very dark brown eyes but not actually black. So during FP I opted for Brown.
