Inspired by natvyas' post earlier, I called an L1 officer and got the run around, so I did some more research on trackitt, figured out how to get to an L2 officer, and chose to give my number rather than wait the 122 minutes they said it would take. About 90 minutes later I got a call back, and really no information from the L2 officer other than that my application was with an officer. Less than 20 minutes later, I got the Card Production/Decision SMS and email. I really have no way to be sure if the two were related at all, but mine isn't the first case out there where this has happened.

The latest splits are as follows:
Augusters:------TSC 9-----NSC 0-----Total 9
Septemberers:--TSC 6-----NSC 22-----Total 28

TSC was working largely on clearing August backlog this morning, but appears to have shifted to the Septemberers this afternoon.

After years of approaching this with a zen-like almost-Buddhist calm, I've been pretty distracted since the last VB came out and absolutely consumed by this since last week (as many of you would have noticed). I have been battling this affliction and have tried hard to switch my focus back to work, but wasn't able to. Now, I think can.

I don't think i'm going to continue to scour trackitt looking for updates, so if anyone wants to continue to do so, send me a PM with your personal email and i'll forward my spreadsheet to you.

I had a Priority date of Apr 2, 2008 (EB2I) from TSC. My case - I485 was filed last year on Jan 12 and had RFE for Immunization for my sons, which was replied on May'12. I had added my name in the list which Pedro had put together as skchoubey - apr2, 2008 (EB2I)

I must say that, it is really a big relief for me and my family that finally I got GC (more than 7 years into US),

For people waiting for GC I wish all the best & hope you get greened too. My advice is please use all available resources or pull all possible strings. I contacted Congressman, sent email to Ombudsman & raised 'SR'. I do not know which one had worked. As adage say "Make hay while sun shines". I followed this simple philosophy.

I did change my address recently (08/14) and called L2 to confirm it. Funny thing..L2 guy took about 20 min to pull my file. May be that wiggled my case.
Also, I looked up few cases around case number and they were all approved long time.

I appreciate your wishes and wish all of you, best of luck. This forum is indeed great with right dose of optimism, a little bit of pessimism backed by solid calculations (Spec) and some realism (Q). At the end, this forum keeps growing and become the hope of all those, who are waiting for their GC. I really appreciated all the posts, through this tough & arduous time.

BTW, One of my friend (his I-485 receipt starts with LIN XXXX) EB3I also got approved today.

seems like happy weeknd for me too- got cpo email followed by address change status back to back.
wife also got cpo emailand her Status is still the same.
folloeing Pedro advice I was trying to exhaust/use all avenues possible.
pd- april 22nd 2008, NSC -eb2 direct.
only issue was on the case was that i applied 2nd i140 for the same labor as 1st was revoked, nd the 2nd i140 was approved dec 2012

thnks to Q,T, S, I's of the forum----I nvr lost hope on my case as I had the best info possible on the dates movement.

I am still in disbelief. With the kind of luck I had in my GC Journey, I still cannot believe it. almost anti climax.

This is my 3rd Labor where I was able to finally apply for I-485.

My 2nd Labor was stuck in RFE, while my priority date based on earlier approved PERM Labor was current from October 2011 through May 2012.

I changed my employer in middle of May 2012 and 2 weeks later my 2nd labor gets approved on 5/27/2012 ( 4 days left to apply for I-485, as my priority date become unavailable on 6/1/2012).

Employer B was not willing to file concurrently for I-140 and I-485 until I get back on their H1-B which they claimed have cancelled a week back. I was willing to do that and employer said it is too short time frame to file everything in 4 days. We will apply when u become current again.

I stayed with employer C until now.


I just hope it is worth the wait of 14 1/2 years.

Went from Acceptance to Card Production.

Spoke with Level 2 on 4th Sept - He mentioned that the case was pre-adjudicated in June 2012 and opened a SR. I opened an e-request for my dependent the next day.

However, my dependent is still in acceptance. I am hoping for an early approval for my dependent. All our approvals for EAD/AP (initial and renewal) came on the same day - so I am guessing for some reason, the dependent's file went to a different IO/queue.

Anybody else with Primary approved and no change in dependent's status?

Today i got bad experience with L2 officer.

L1 officer opened SR on 3rd and spoke to L2 officer on same day,the officer said my application was preadjucated and under review. Today I called again to talk to L2 officer, she was very rude and she asked my name,DOB and receipt number and then before i ask anything she said you already called on 3rd and don't call USCIS until 18th and if I call again then she said some kind of disciplinary action can be taken. what does this mean ? do they have power to do something on my file ? can they add some comment on my file so the final adjudicator can see while reviewing my file.

anyways i decided not to call them or do any action from myside now onwards, just wait and see.

Jun - legally they can't take a disciplinary action. You are a customer and it's ok for you to want to know what they are doing. However practically, these guys are dealing with frustrated immigrants on a daily basis and they are dealing with hundreds of thousands of cases in a year with a minimal staff. So perhaps cut them some slack and wait until 18th. They already confirmed that the case is preadj. So if your date is current most likely you should be greened soon.

Same with me. I was the first to clarify to Spec's statement on unused FB visas in DOS visa statistics where he mentioned there was a possibility of spillover and was eagerly waiting for his reply to confirm which he did. That was the last hope for me that I would be current in FY2013.

Hello everyone

I got the CPO email and text notification today. My priority date was April 2, 2008. I changed my job in Jan 2013 which was a year after I became current the last time I applied for I-485. I did not file A-21 as it was discretionary and did not wanted to open up a can of worms. Prior to that I have been with the same employer(non-IT field) for almost 7 yrs. The CPO email caught me by surprise as I did not expect the update so soon into the date being current. This forum has been really helpful and I wish good luck to everyone else waiting for their approvals. Thanks again for the wealth of information available on this forum.

I got CPO emails for me (EB2 India PD: 4/30/08, Current in Dec'11 Bulletin; EAD/AP Applied in Feb'12, renewed in Mar'13; Job Change in Dec'12; AC21 filed in Feb'13) and my wife today!

After reading several posts in the forum I took SR appointment last week and spoke to L2 representative today morning. Later I received the CPO emails in the afternoon. Not sure if there is any connection between the two but if there is, thank to you all, all knowledge was accessible to benefit me and other folks on this forum.

Receiving physical GCs will end my 11 years journey as resident alien and will help for smoother India travel in December :)

Have been a silent follower for a while now. Following forums (like this and trackitt) was the only source of hope in an otherwise 13-freaking-long years.

The wait ended today. Thank you for all of your stellar contribution!

My Details:

Entered on H1B ; Dec-2000
After seeing colleagues's GC applications in '02, and mine not getting initiated till '06; had given up all hopes! Finally when it started, was filed in EB3 to my total shock! - and I had 6 months left on my H1 (6 year quota) - with no other option to continue in US, stuck on with EB3 - and when '07 happened, was not married :( After extensive deliberations with attorney who tried to convince me to file; I decided to pass coz of my marriage (or, lack there of) situation. BUT, one advice I never got from attny was the 'interfile' or 'follow to join' options.


After 12 long years with my only company, and many fights to port to EB2 failing, I decided to start from scratch in '11. Moved to a staffing org, and started all over. Man, it felt like a blunder - First was the PWD shutdown till Oct'11, and then the dates moving so rapidly before becoming 'U' till this Aug! And, finally now the CPO mail on a saturday!

PD: Mar-16-2006
RD: 8/2/13
ND: 8/8
EAD (scheduled) : 9/4 - early walk-in 8/22
EAD/AP Approval: 9/18
CPO: 10/19

Again, the site visit count contribution from my side was atleast 15-20 everyday ;) - that shows how much this forum helped keep hopes alive!

They are supposed to give you prevailing wage since when you joined them on this job. Looks like you are already working in the job the GC was filed for. If they haven't then there is a good chance they have already committed either fraud or crime.

My H1 position and PERM positions are slightly different (Are you talking about H1 wage or PERM wages?) They are paying me the H1 prevailing wage, but now that my GC has been approved, they ought to pay up the PERM prevailing wage right? If yes, when does that start? When my I-9 is updated? If H1 and PERM positions are different then the employer needs to pay H1 wage or higher while on H1 and PERM wage or higher after GC.

If you doing the PERM job now - then you must get PERM wage. If you are still doing the H1 job - the employer is not under obligation to give you PERM wage. However the employer is kind of under obligation to USCIS that they will give you the PERM job and wage. Because that's how they justified your 140 to USCIS.


My H1 position and PERM positions are slightly different (Are you talking about H1 wage or PERM wages?) They are paying me the H1 prevailing wage, but now that my GC has been approved, they ought to pay up the PERM prevailing wage right? If yes, when does that start? When my I-9 is updated? Looking at Trackit so far the split has been 70:30 i.e. 70% approval cases with 2013 Received date:30% approval cases with Jan2012 received date

Yes, I will keep visiting the forum. I don't think I will add anything new other than what many of you already are aware of, but I made it a habit to check the site at least once a day for last 4 years.

I came to this country in Jan 2001, it took 14 long years to finally get approved, can't imagine going through all the pain and stress without this discussion board. The best part is experts here provided clarity with only facts and available information. I may not have expressed enough but what Q started is nothing short of a phenomenon. I see many folks (friends, relatives, friends friends) with 90% understanding of when can they expect what. For me, it started when Q and Teddy participiated in EB2-3 thread on other site, I never posted there but came here and started actively with all of you.

also want to share my opinion on Spec, brother you amaze me with your clarity, understanding of data, expression, illustration, communication. You are true inspiration for a person like me to look inward and improve. I wish I can show you how much you taught me.

Kanmani, I remember your first posts here, you became an expert on these matters. really very proud of you, hope your immigration and personal desires become true very soon

I remember the early days - Q, Spec, Teddy, Veni, Nishant - some group!

Gurus and Key Contributors are two different things - because the Guru designation is just because of post count. One can be a Guru in name without approaching the heights of the group above (sheepishly looks in the mirror :-). I got CPO emails 1 hr back and still digesting this fact .. oh yes i am done after almost 6 yrs ... For us, its been pretty straight journey from H1 to GC .. no major issues as such and I believe USCIS works pretty well w/in there defined limits.

Good luck to you all waiting .. If I could do one magic then it would be a GC for all retrogressed folks ...

I got CPO emails 1 hr back and still digesting this fact .. oh yes i am done after almost 6 yrs ... For us, its been pretty straight journey from H1 to GC .. no major issues as such and I believe USCIS works pretty well w/in there defined limits.

Good luck to you all waiting .. If I could do one magic then it would be a GC for all retrogressed folks ...

I contacted Senator's office on 24JUL2014 and they said they approached the USCIS on my case status the same date, but till date haven't heard back from them. I booked an Infopass for 22AUG2014 online (will cancel it now) on 8AUG2014. On 11AUG2014 (post 60 day RFERR date) I contacted USCIS and spoke to a L2. She went through our files and was surprised why we haven't received any decision yet, since everything else looks clean. She made me wait for a few mins and said I have sent an email to the TSC office asking for updates and we should hear about approval in the next 2 weeks. A few minutes back I got the SMS and emails.

Q, my story-came here as a student back in 2001, did MS in IM engineering, market was bad so started with MBA. Soon realized it is not my cup of tea, so started looking for jobs. Found a job and then a "company" who sponsored my H1B in 2005. Stuck with him till 2008 and luckily joined another company. I called it lucky because the day the new company applied for my H1 transfer, I got to know that my previous employer packed his bags and left the country (and a sizable amount of my wage$)! Been with the new company since then who have been very professional and good so far. Never left the country since 2006. Missed the boat back in 2012 (probably due to stupid security check-wifey has a PhD and works as a Research Scientist for a biomed company), finally got the approval today :)! I was super tensed till now since I will be undergoing a surgery in a couple of weeks time, now I am a bit calmer. I really wish this dreaded journey ends for everyone soon or at least the process becomes much transparent without anyone having to do guess work, rather base it on facts!

Life is good. Let's count our blessings. Have a safe sound surgery and take your time to recover. I think I have told my story in bits and pieces on the forum but here is a summary anyway!

I came to US in 2000 to do MBA. 911 happened ... forget jobs ... no interviews for any of us. Prior batch had average starting salaries of 110K and 3 average jobs for Indians. Had our first child during MBA. No job yet. Rejected two because they were not good enough. Finally got a real MBA like job (or so I thought!). Did bean counting and was a corporate pig for 9 years. GC originally approved by a CIO that hired me in 2003 - delayed to 2004 - filed in 2005 - screwed up and refiled in 2007 (on purpose by the biggest Corporate Immigration Lawyer and of course biggest pigs in the industry). Started this blog out of frustration along with many others. Finally approved in 2011. Left employer and joined another in 2011. Since Jan 2013 left job to work for myself! We will see how it goes!

As per GC and the slavery that comes with it - I think one shouldn't limit one's options. I am guilty of it and hence the wisdom! There is only one life. And years gone by are not coming back. I find everybody's story as much heartwarming as my own ..... hence I asked! Thanks for sharing and all the very best!

Today morning at 00.30 hrs I got a text and email saying Card/Document production ordered and I should receive my cards in 30 days. But I got a text/email few mins back that "On August 18, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice.
