Guidelines:


Provide objective data, facts, and opinions/analysis based on data and facts. Clearly state when opinion is not backed by data.
Refrain from political viewpoints - American or otherwise.

Rules:


Be respectful of ALL immigrant groups irrespective of their country category or economic or legal status.
Be respectful of other forum members.
Share your own independent view to the forum. Refrain from using forum as a propaganda tool
No SPAM PORN or any kind of advertisements PLEASE.

Q - I think we should allow folks to provide opinions based on facts provide. So may be guideline 1 should be
Provide facts/data and/or objective opinions based on available facts/data.

Thanks Viz. Good find. I changed the verbiage. Please feel free to directly modify if you think it needs to be further improved.

Same with other moderators. Please feel free to make a change to the original post.

I am also split on which of those above are rules vs guidelines. In my mind - a guideline is just that. We leave it to the forum participant to then adhere to it. But a rule is something that the forum participants must follow. Non-adherence could invite punitive action from moderators.

So having said that - if you think certain rules should be more like guidelines OR vice versa, then please move them around as well.
